The M1 Garand Rifle was an American companion in three wars including World War Two, Korea, and Vietnam. It's still an American companion after all these years as thousands of people across the USA avail themselves of the pleasure of owning a piece of history that General George S Patton called "The greatest battle implement ever devised".

Reloading

If there was one flaw with the desing of the M1 Garand, it was that it was so hard to top off the weapon in real life. Soldiers who tried to top off their magazines could have had their fingers broken or crushed. In some cases, the cover would snap back and dismember the finger. Very few soldiers risked this, and instead they emptied their clips, whereupon the cover would slide back and make it a lot easier.
