Overview
Maboshi's Arcade (known in Europe as MaBoShi: The Three Shape Arcade and in Japan as Katachi no Game: Maru Bou Shikaku, loosely translated to "Game of Shapes: Circle, Stick, Square") is a puzzle mini-game collection developed by Mindware and published digitally by Nintendo for the Wii (as a Wiiware title) in Europe (on August 29, 2008), in Japan (on October 7, 2008), and in North America (on December 29, 2008).
Based on three shapes: circle ("ma"), stick ("bo"), and square ("shi"), Maboshi's Arcade allows up to three players can play at once, with each player controlling their chosen mini-game (Circle, Stick, or Square) on their own separate playfield. Each player can join-in or quit at any time, and can affect the playfields of other players as they're playing. Unlike most Wiiware games, Maboshi's Arcade does not use motion controls.
A unique feature of the game is Download Play support for the Nintendo DS, allowing DS owners to download a special single-player version of the collection (with ports of all three games). An enhanced version of the Square mini-game was later released as a separate title for the Nintendo DS in 2010 as Flametail.
