What do you think the odds of Mad World winning GOTY awards for 2009? I'd say, so long as it controls well......pretty damn possible.

I don't know about this... Doesn't Bayonetta come up next year as well? That's two games from the same company competing for this title! Seriously though, I think both games will be awesome in their own way.

I find it strange that Bayonetta is getting close to no press (that I have seen), but MadWorld is plastered everywhere.

Oh schizzle, forgot about Diablo 3. Well, pertaining to your other comment, according to the IGN preview, the demo went through an entire level without dispatching two enemies the same way. There's a lot of environmental kills that mix it up, as well as combos (like a signpost through the face and a chainsaw to the torso) that keep it fresh. Also, most games involve killing, and some have great replay value, such as Gears of War and UT2004. and333 said:

Unlikely, but it's looking like my personal 2009 GOTY right now.

No, I don't think so. Well have to see what kind of games come out in 09, before we even start these topics.

I have an inkling that Madworld will be an underrated game, even if it is incredible. It just seems like the kind of game that gets forgotten when considering GOTY nominees.

No way from what I saw there wasn't anything impressive except the new art style direction other than that its just violence and gore.

I hate speculation like this. You are basing a game's quality on a couple of screenshots and a teaser? Seriously? Wait until the game comes out before you start giving it medals.

My god..how can this shit be starting already? you have no idea what games have yet to be unveiled other than this in 2009...and lets be honest, I think it looks pretty neat and fun, but hardly probably even a contender..even if it is, it isn't even 09 yet, and you need to let it get othe end of the year once everything is released before even saying this. Its like in the beginning of this year, everyone goes "GTAIV GOTY HANDS DOWN, BEATS EVERYTHING!" before the game came out and while they were plying it, but now thats pretty over with(I know its still played online,but you know what I mean) and those people definitely wouldn't still be saying they think its GOTY by the end of it...let it get to november/december of 09, then decide....not almost half a year before 09 is even here.

Nah.  Looks cool but doesn't look GOTY material.  I am up to hearing more about it however and I think it will be one of the better action games on the WIi.  Overall, RE5 is gonna be better in terms of action, though.
