Great (and fun) Way to Learn
I had never played a Magic game before this one. I had seen an experienced friend play before. In fact, I’ve never been into card games like this before. That’s my background. I am a newbie.
The PC game put an intimidating game into a nice visual package. I didn’t have to read a rule book for an hour or two to set it up the first time. I played the tutorial and then the campaign. There was no clean up and no card shuffling. It was very convenient.
As a newcomer, I enjoyed the level of depth and challenge the game provides. I still don’t want to buy physical cards or play in tournaments, but I still enjoy playing a casual round four years later. If any of my friends wants to play Magic on a game night, I will know how to play confidently.
Another piece I enjoyed was local co-op. I wasn’t sure how well the mechanics would work, but it worked well.
