Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom Review 0

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is a game that feels like it should have come out several years ago. Developed by Game Republic, this third person action adventure game has a few tricks up its sleeve but none of them actually leave a positive impression.  It is a game that is obviously influenced by the Legend of Zelda games but false to live up to the source. The main gameplay mechanic of the game is that you command that Majin that is a giant creature that you can get to attack vari...

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom Review 0

Majin and the Forsaken KingdomBeing the first senses that are aroused when playing a game I really do like starting with the graphics and sound. The graphics in general are really beautiful, rendering this fantasy world in bright and magical colors with various terrains and architecture that instill a true ethereal aesthetic; though when looking a bit closer there are a few noticeable blemishes. The character of Tepeu has a few bad facial animations, and there will be occasional glitches with sh...

Majin feels like one giant Zelda dungeon—and it's awesome. 0

It’s hard to argue against Majin and Forsaken Kingdom’s shortcomings. Muddy, ugly visuals, laughably poor voice acting, general lack of polish; it’s a budget game no matter which way you look at it. But it’s a lovable game—not because it’s “so bad that it’s good”—but because, despite a multitude of smaller, incidental problems, Majin cleverly combines Zelda-esque, dungeon-like puzzle solving with some interesting combat resulting in a surprisingly engaging experience through and through. What’...

If only I had my own Luck Dragon...er...I mean Majin...My own Maj 0

Don't get caught off guard by the character design of the Majin, but yes he does sound like Falkor. Majin and Tepeu are best friends, not by choice, but by coincidence. Tepeu, a master thief, sneaks through this tower after his friends of the furred variety tell him to. He stumbles onto this giant of a creature, locked on a boulder from these evil beings in their kingdom. Tepeu feeds this monster some fruit, the creature regains some strength where both the creature and Tepeu free the creature. ...

Awful Acting Could Not Bring this Majin Down 0

I grabbed this when it was on sale over the holidays. The reduced price made it worth picking up. Even though I had heard some pretty negative things about the game, it seemed to be exactly the kind of game I tend to like. A true adventure with a fantastic world and a great quest. It turns out the bad things I had heard were spot on. The acting in this game is so bad, I can only assume it was done by complete armatures. And unfortunately, the story of the Majin and the hero need to be told thro...

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom 0

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom will have you jumping into the role of a thief who oddly enough can understand animals. He is on a mission to steal something that could save the kingdom. What he doesn't fully realize is that the thing that he finds is a monster to the gods named Majin. It is with Majin that the thief is able to fight back against the evil entities that have overrun the kingdom. You'll have to face mighty foes to set the world free, are you man enough to do it?Graphically this gam...

Adventures With a Boneheaded Wingman 0

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is host to a handful of ideas and concepts that if given a finer degree of refinement could have made for a really fun original title. The story begins after you break into the palace where the  Majin is being held prisoner. Tales of  Majins great power as a beat of the gods has led you to seek him out to help you on your quest. When you find him you quickly find out that  Majin is a dullard, who speaks in broken  english and constantly trips over his own feet. Re...
