Manhattan

One of the five boroughs of New York City.

Located on Manhattan island at the mouth of the Hudson River. As of 2007 Manhattan's population is 1,620,867 and has 22.96 square mile of land which give it a population density of 70,595 people per square mile. There are also several smaller island that are part Manhattan: Roosevelt Island, Randall's Island, Ward's Island, Governors Island, Liberty Island and Belmont Island. It was settled in 1624 and was called New Amsterdam.
