I know nothing about this game. Is this the point where people start riding a bus around the board and games don't take 4+ hours? Did the Wii Mario Party games have motion controls?

Whatever it is, surely it has to be better than this, right?

@clagnaught: it plays the same as the past games, but with wii remotes and motion control. There are also lucky spaces on the boards (you can see where they are so its not a secret) which will take you to a secret path for a guaranteed star. If my memory is right, it isn't as boring as 7.

"Waiting" just doesn't look right on these forums. I'm so used to "watitng" that I've accepted it as the one true spelling.

I hope Mario Party 8 has good music. That's all I want. They're supposed to suffer, not me.

Only another two months until Dan leaves for NY. Hopefully they can fit a MPP in every two weeks until that point.

I LOVE Mario Party 8. It's up there with Wii Sports and Super Mario Galaxy as my most played game on the Wii. While I bet they elect to go with the traditional board my person favorite was "Koopa's Tycoon Town," which was Monopoly/Fortune Street map. You can honestly play the map twenty times and still get different results.

It's a faster paced game so it shouldn't be that long but don't expect it to be fun for anyone. Honestly they could stop now, they did the most important Mario parties

@zombiepie: To me, Mario Party 1 still feels like the best game, although that is the only one I owned. I think I played Mario Party 3 at a friends house one time, but most of my knowledge of this series is watching the Mario Party Party's. I am legitimately curious about the Wii versions, just to see if they do anything unique with the formula. (Honestly, as long as we don't have another Mario Party Party 6 on our hands, I will be happy)

Well the dudes played Mario Party 9 on TNT several years ago and it took about an hour and a half so I think 8 will be the last marathon of hell, unfortunately.

I liked 8. The haunted mansion map would be my recommendation if they were put off by the previous bad advice. Still classic star mechanics but with a map that randomly generates each time the star is collected.

I love Mario Party Party, but...already? I don't know if I can take the suffering this soon, let along the gang that has to play it.

For 9 and 10 couldn't they just play 2 25 turn rounds? After the first round take the star count and use the handicap feature to continue from where they left off (kind of. It won't take coins into account but at least it will be even). 50 turns or bust!
