Do the leaderboards just not work on the PC version?

I have multiple friends on my friends list with over 20 hours in the game and all the achievements unlocked, but when I look at the leaderboards in the steam version, it doesn't show anyone. Is it just a bug with my game or does anyone else get this. I contacted Klei on twitter, but they haven't got back to me yet.

Um I've only looked at the leaderboards once but my score at least showed up.

Yeah my score showed up, but none of my friends.
