In news that should shock absolutely no one, Mark of the Ninja is also coming to to the PC. It’s scheduled for a release on Steam for $14.99 on October 16, and without Games for Windows Live hooks.

Mark of the Ninja follows a typical pattern for “exclusives” on Xbox Live Arcade, in which Microsoft ties up the game for a certain amount of time, and then it's released elsewhere. Sometimes the exclusivity is longer or shorter, but eventually, it leaves the nest.

Considering how great Mark of the Ninja was (make sure to read Brad’s glowing review over here), I’m happy to see the game come to a wider platform. All of you really need to play it.

Really.

Awesome. Was going to pick it up on my 360 but would rather have it on PC.

Fuck, guess I'll be buying it again. :)

Cool, more people need to experience this awesomeness.

#5 Posted by Govannan (25 posts) -

This is exactly what I was waiting for.

#6 Posted by killersense (2 posts) -

would love to play this on vita : ( fingers crossed

Great. The only thing that shocks me about this is how quickly it's following the XBLA release. I wish more XBLA 'exclusive' games came over to PC while they are still fresh in the news.

Sweet, I almost considered picking this up on 360 but I'll definitely wait for the Steam release.

Shit yeah! Can't wait.

Great. I was interested in this one, but my 360 hasn't been turned on in about a year now. I'm afraid of seeing red.

Now, I can get into it. Hopefully, they have a "just released" sale/discount thing on it. Grab it for 12 bucks or something.

Hahahahaha, I was literally just about to buy Mark of the Ninja, looks like I'll be waiting :)

Great news, looking forward to finally playing this

haven't bought this game

#14 Posted by radioactivez0r (862 posts) -

Excellent news, though this means that any post-release content they planned won't immediately be part of the price as it was for Iron Brigade, Alan Wake, ITSP, etc. Oh well, I'll still be happy to buy it on PC.

#15 Posted by whatisdelicious (1228 posts) -

Ugh I wish this would come to PSN.

#16 Posted by TheEvilCory (74 posts) -

Oh hell yeah! Was gonna buy it on xbla, because I didn't want to wait. Now I don't have to!

Seriously though, xbla is awful.

#17 Posted by mosdl (3229 posts) -

And that is why my 360 hasn't been touched in a long while.

#18 Posted by Anupsis (303 posts) -

@whatisdelicious: It will

Hooray for Steam Version! Now to just wait for Dust to come out on Steam...

XBLA is going from something that was awesome to something that is now just a preview for Steam. It's like the Best Buy-Amazon relationship (except that Best Buy was never awesome).

Thankfully not chained to a timed exclusive. i'll be picking this up when it comes out on steam.

Jesus...what was the last game (other than fez) that I bought from Microsoft? It certainly wasn't anything recent.

Buzzed about Xbox Live Arcade stealth game is on the way to Steam.

I just can't make sense of this sentence. Maybe it's just my cold medication messing with my head.

I'm pretty excited - I haven't picked it up yet because I wanted to see if it would come to Steam quickly.

#30 Posted by dr_mantas (1982 posts) -

@piderman: THANK you. Now I feel kinda silly.

#31 Posted by SeanFoster (879 posts) -

Phew! I was worried I might actually have to take my Xbox out of moth balls for this one.

#32 Posted by NDN_Shadow (120 posts) -

NOOOO. I didn't expect it to come to Steam so fast. My wallet.....it's crying....

#33 Posted by MeatSim (10896 posts) -

Well that was a extremely short exclusivity window.

#35 Posted by Kato (158 posts) -

@NDN_Shadow: Shouldn't have bought it for Xbox then. My laziness and poorness win again! :P

#36 Posted by Nightriff (5153 posts) -

Buying it, day one we shall we has I will be waist deep in dishonored but I WILL play this game, can't wait

#37 Posted by WaltJay (18 posts) -

I know XBLA and the exclusive deals have been getting hammered in the press because of lack of advertising, but I wonder how bad of a deal it really is when you take into account the game's entire lifespan.

I know it's obvious, but a game that is first on XBLA and then Steam will sell better than a game that goes straight to Steam. My greater point is that maybe going the XBLA route as the first release isn't such an awful deal when you consider how much better your game will sell once it hits Steam (vs. not being on XBLA at all). It's like using MS's platform to gather great reviews, sell 50k or so copies of your game, and graduate to Steam to sell double that amount (or more).

They said they had plans in the QL so I am glad they are going to do it!

I assumed this would happen, just not so fast!

#41 Posted by buft (3320 posts) -

awesome!

#42 Posted by CornBREDX (5626 posts) -

Wow. That was faster then I expected. I thought it wouldn't be until next year.

I may break my "no more games this year" rule for this one.

#43 Posted by Viking_Funeral (1817 posts) -

Buying it twice, I guess.

#45 Posted by beepmachine (618 posts) -

Holy shit, that was fast. I'm pumped. And no GFWL. Dayum.
