When asked if Marvel vs.Capcom 2 was a game that didn't need the HD Remix treatment, Svensson replied:

"I won't say it doesn't need it. Marvel would be great to do. There's obviously a fan base for it. It's probably our most requested title. Unfortunately, I wish I had news to share on that front but I don't."

The chances of Capcom making Marvel vs. Capcom 3, however, are less likely, due to licensing issues it seems:

"I would never say never but I would say the barriers to doing that are much higher than the barriers for MvC2," said Svensson.

Awwman would it be awesome. As well as that game I can think of a few Capcom fighters well deserving of a HD remix, starting with the greatest, SF3, Vampire Chronicles, Capcom Vs SNK2.  The thought of seeing my beloved Vampire Chronicles in HD gets me all goose pimply all over, and inside.
 


As much as I love Udon art, I would hate them touching the classic MvC2 sprites, I think a Marvel consultant should be used, one who could work alongside Capcom's best.

I think those games are beautiful as they are, they're not so old to need a remix and they'd probably fuck up the art instead of simply use the same sprites, just in higher res. SF2 needed it because it's so old, these newer titles weren't really held back by the hardware and the sprites are as good as they could be,. minus the actual display resolution.

Edit: Well, way too many people said "Psylocke" to justify not editing it out now.

I'd love to see a version of MVC2 redone. Throw in the mandatory online mode and I'd be in heaven.

A 'HD Remix' of MvC2 would probably just be the game running in higher resolution.  Backgrounds are 3d and the sprites are scaled even in the Dreamcast / arcade / other versions.

The amount of new sprites to make would be massive so I can't see them redrawing the entire game.

a HD version of MvC2 would totally rock; not a remix, though, as that implies an art style change and there's nothing wrong with the art style in MvC2. hopefully Marvel Entertainment will recognize the brilliance of this game and work with Capcom to make it happen.

I would buy that in a heartbeat. Other than a small video game store by my high school I never really got the chance to play the game but the visuals and style alone were enough to get me to envy those who had the game.
