Has anybody else received unreadable disc errors for Marvel vs Capcom 2?  I get them pretty much everytime I play, and a lot of the time it's before it even reaches the menu.  Otherwise I get the error during the "Versus" screen.  I called Microsoft and they told me to clear my hard drive's cache, which I did.  This seemed to help for a while but then it just got worse.  I'm incredibly angry.  It must be a problem with my hard drive...any suggestions on what to do?

WTF?  Nothing like that has ever happened to me.  Maybe it's because of the game you have in the disc drive but, I'm just taking a wild guess.

It will definately help, I think you may have possibly downloaded some corrupt or incomplete files.

It's either what the others said, or your hard drive is failing.

I've tried deleting and re-downloading a couple of times to no avail, I think my hard drive is just screwed.  But thanks anyway.

Do you have a 120 GB HDD yet?  Maybe it's time to upgrade.

The idea that a downloadable game flat-out says "unreadable disc error" is hilarious.

As to your problem, not so hilarious.  Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Just a little update...here's all the things I've tried to do to remedy this issue:

    clear system cache (multiple times)
delete and re-download game (multiple times)
try a different hard drive, recover my gamertag and download the game on that one (same exact problem)

I called Microsoft again and they seem almost as puzzled as I am, I talked to at least three different people.  They had me create a new profile to try the game, to no avail of course.  They also had me search my entire hard drive for potentially corrupted files (nothing was marked with the yellow triangle that would indicate a corrupt or damaged file).

They are now saying the very license to download the game may be corrupt, and that they could refund my points and have me use them as I please...but downloading MvC2 again they say would be risking having another corrupt license (basically saying I can have any 1200 point game, as long as it's not the only one I want right now).  Someone must really be fucking with my head.  They must know how goddamn badly I've been wanting to play this game.

In conclusion, Microsoft is forwarding this issue to "upper management" apparently.  They are supposed to call me back within 3-7 business days...things aren't looking good.  It's like they're specifically keeping me from playing one of my fave games of all time.  No one I talked to seemed to think there was a problem with my actual console (which I'm beginning to think there is now...since the game fucks up regardless of which hard drive I use).  This is strange because in the past they've been quick to encourage requesting a repair (I've had red ring issue twice, but this is a different issue altogether).

I'm just going to try and figure out what to do next, whether or not I need to send in my console again.  I think it's still within the extended warranty period so it wouldn't cost anything, it'd just be another inconvenience.
