So with 1 week to go (for US bombers at least, grrrr) for the game to come out, you must have a pretty good idea what characters you want to use, which ones you're on the fence about, and which ones you know you will never use. This is of course subject to change when we actually PLAY the game, but for now, this is how it's looking for me:
 
Will use for sure:
 
Wesker, Modok, Skrull, Deadpool, Dormammu, Trish, Magneto, X-23, Taskmaster
 
On the fence about, need to try them out:
 
Thor, She Hulk, Ammy, Joe, Hulk, Spidey, Doom, Wolverine, Zero, Hsien Ko, Pheonix, Rad Spencer, Chris, Arthur, Dante, Sentinel
 
Have no interest in using:
 
Ryu, Chun Li, Akuma, Viper, Captain America, Ironman, Morrigan, Felicia, Storm, Tron, Haggar
 
A note on both Dante and Sentinel being on the fence, both are basically there because i'm pretty sure will be so overused that it turns me off wanting to play them, even tho I do want to try them. Deadpool almost enters this category but he looks too cool, I dont care if everyone will use him. All Street Fighter characters I'm pretty sure I will NEVER use (if I wanna play them I have ssf4 >_>), I never liked Morrigan or Felicia in any game, or Storm really, no matter how good she is (or how good chuns and viper are really, which seems to be very heh)

I will have to put my hands on them first. In SSF4, I ended up playing Dudley and I wouldn't have imagined that before trying him out.
So we'll see.

I'll use everyone aside from characters I didn't like in MvC2, probably (this basically means no Sentinel)
 
Most excited to use Dante, Amaterasu, Viewtiful Joe, Wesker, Deadpool, Chris, Jill, Akuma, Storm.

I think the overall roster is pretty great, aside from a few obligatory picks from Street Fighter, DarkStalkers, and a few that seem to be only in there because they're female (cough, X-23 and She-Hulk). So, aside from the lack of Frank West, I'm pretty happy with the overall list, but without having played the game, I can't really say who I'm going to use (but I'll probably be one of the people "over-using" Dante). 

I plan on using She Hulk, M.O.D.O.K. and Haggar. But I'll make the rounds on everyone. 
 
 
But She Hulk will be a mainstay for me.

The gamer in me says- Okay, you can pick her as a main as long as she's not low tier, and then choose your assists based on the best tactical combination
Fanboy me- What about Resident Evil team (Jill/Chris/Wesker)!?
Gamer me- Man...you know people are going to think you're a fucking scrub for doing that.... Let's just hope Capcom already had such a team config in mind.
Fanboy me- How about three hot girls team (Jill/C.Viper/Trish)
Gamer me- Dude...just... it's not going to work okay?!

I'm not really sure who I'll try first, but I really want to play Sentinel, because one of my goals early on is get as many people mad as possible.

Probably going to roll with Wolverine, Super Srull, and Dr. Doom as my main team for awhile. I also want to try out Hsien-ko  and M.O.D.O.K. as a keep away team.

I can't really say what my team will be till I mess around with the game for a bit, but my first fight will be with She Hulk, Mike Hagar and Zero.

Arthur, Thor, Spencer, Wesker, Akuma, Dormammu and Shuma-Gorath are probably the characters I'll be messing around with the most. I still think this game needs more Samurai-the one from Darkstalkers, the Silver Samurai, etc.

I'm really not keen on the cast. There are a few inspired choices, but a lot of the design is bland as hell and there are some total whobodies. 
 
Still excited as hell for the game and to play whatever my team turns out to be. 
 
At the moment I love the look of Amaterasu, Zero and Arthur.

Yes! The basic rule to fighting games is if your not mad then the other person is, and vice versa. Well, unless your playing casual games but even then it's likely someone will get annoyed ;) "

I'll probably spend more time in the training lab crafting combos than I will actually playing but... My first team will consist of Taskmaster, Trish, and an as of yet undetermined third. I'll make my way around the entire cast eventually. I am perfectly happy with the characters we got.

I'm already planning to use Felicia, Morrigan, and Hsien-ko as my main team. No doubt about that. I'll sub one of 'em out for Capt. America or T. Bonne from time to time though.
 
I'll test out everyone when I get the game, but I have no interest in anyone else.

Wesker will be point on my team for sure. Second picks would be Dante or Super Skrull. I'll try Taskmaster once I unlock him.
 
I would play with Jill, but I don't have the CE reserved. (Damn you reserve cut-off dates!) I'll eventually make my way around the entire roster, just to check everyone out.

Megama- oh wait, that's right...

No Hayato or Strider sucks, and there's one or two characters that seem bland additions to MvC3 in my opinion. Other then that a solid cast, doesn't quite match Marvel vs Capcom 2 though.  
 
Deadpool and Amaterasu look great fun to play.

Then I am just going to go though the rest of the fighters .    

MF'n Doom looks like he'll be a blast to play as this time around

I'll use Dante, Amaterasu and Chris Redfield. Dante will be my point with his assist being 'Crystal', Chris will either have Grenade Toss or Gun Fire as his assist and Amaterasu will be my anchor and my Battery. 
 
A lot of people will be using Dante, of course, but I don't care as I like the character too much.

The roster in MvC2 was so big and had so many crazy characters that I wouldn't have been entirely happy no matter what.   I just hope that they add more characters, at least as DLC, and have some deeper cuts on both sides. MODOK and Super-Skrull I didn't see coming but I think there are too many characters on Capcom's side from the same franchises. 3 from RE, 4 from SF, and 2 from Darkstalkers? Damn...That's a bit much. Some people might say the same for the Marvel side, but comics, Marvel especially, were my first love so I don't think they could put too many X-men/Avengers characters in for me.  "
