Okay, so this is the last thing I'm going to post about Mass Effect 2...today...probably.

So I just joined the Facebook fan group for Mass Effect 2. Growing pretty quickly, and you can find a link on the Mass Effect 2 Twitter.

In the description of the game, they have as their "Release Date: Late 2009." Originally Mass Effect 2 was supposed to come out at the first quarter of next year.

What do you make of this? Did an intern just screw up? Or is an earlier-than-expected release date going to be announced at ETriple? Stay tuned!

Although it'd be great if Mass Effect 2 made it this year, I want them to take their time. Even if that means waiting until early next year.

I hope this is true.  2010 sounds so far away.

Update: The Facebook page has been update to reflect the original "Spring 2010" release window.

I have to say between it being released this year and being released next year with those extra months of polish, I'll take the latter, thanks.

    It does
But I'm willing to wait for Mass Effect 2.

The first Mass Effect was released November 20, 2007. I remember because I basically spent my entire Thanksgiving break playing that game.

However, EA has stated a willingness to release "tentpole" releases at less crowded moments, in hopes of grabbing a more significant amount of "mind share" and other marketing buzz terms the ultimately mean nothing. Expect this in February or more likely March.

They wouldn't release ME2 and Dragon Age in the same financial quarter.

I am so stoked for Mass Effect 2 that I won't even care if it comes on multiple discs. Take your time Bioware.
