    I'm not sure if this has already been posted.. Anyway, it looks pretty amazing compared to the standard textures:

    Edit: A short clip with the "ultra textures" found in the link above + enb (http://www.mediafire.com/?vhjmg2llkzy) that you should watch in 1080p @ fullscreen to be able to fully appreciate it:

    Another edit: When you use enb it looks pretty cool in some scenes and is wayy too dark in others. I wouldn't be able to play through the game like that, but you could actually edit the enb-ini to change the settings and make it look the way you want it to look. Oh and on my PC (Phenom II 955 @ 3.7Ghz, 8GB RAM, GTX 570) the FPS were kinda low (barely playable), which was probably because of the combination of the ultra textures and enb.

    The texture loading times are not as bad on my system, the high res textures took about 3-4 minutes to load and the ultra textures 7-8 minutes (all of them). And it does load that long every time you start the game, but not in the loading screens when you are playing.

    @Lights_Up_The_Shaft: Does it matter how old a game is to be allowed to improve the visuals? I don't understand your question.

    Amazing? No, it doesn't. it just looks a bit better. If you want amazing visuals in mods, then look at the recently released GTA IV mod. I can't remember the name.

    @JJWeatherman: Garrus looks even cooler than he already did!

    And I somehow can't post fullscreen images or images that zoom in when you click on them, any idea how that works?

    I used to know how to do that...

    But even if you did that, they would only expand so far. It would probably be best just to post a direct link to a full resolution version. I actually just looked at them in the images section of your profile, so linking there would work too.

    That mod alone makes me want a nice Gaming PC.

    It doesn't look that much better to be honest. Though it's nice to see they fixed Garrus' blurry face mark.

    @JJWeatherman: Alright, done.

    @FritzDude: I think both look amazing, but you can't compare a high res texture mod with something like that GTA IV mod. I really hope they make it work with steam soon.

    @STUVNING: There's nothing to thank for. :)

    It looks great but the difference in the previews you posted looks minimal because the original low res textures are being downscaled, which makes them look better.

    That's actually a pretty old version of the mod, what people are talking about right now is the iCEnhancer and the newest version of that one is 1.25 which also runs with the latest version of GTA4 (standard Steam installation, version 1.0.7). But it's better to downgrade to 1.0.4 (I did that and it works), because it looks better and runs more smoothly. It seems like ICEnhancer 1.2 looks better than 1.25, but it does not work with 1.0.7 at all, you'd have to downgrade first.

    Anyway, Mass Effect 2.. high res mod.. looking good.

    This kind of frustrates me. You didn't used to have to download and install something extra to get the best quality out of a PC game. It just came that way. Now you have to login to the convoluted EA system (at least for the handful of EA games that do this), prove you registered the game, have your account info, navigate their system, find the file, download the file, run the installation, etc. Just to get more PC-ass graphics and less console-ass graphics. It saddens me.

    @Branthog: Oh well, the things you do to improve your gaming experience.. :) I personally don't really care, I'm used to working with configs and I sometimes download seperate mods and addons. There have always been extra things to download for the PC for a lot of games (almost none to improve the visuals though) and there was no automatic Steam patching, you had to do everything manually 6-7 years ago as you know. I would say playing PC games has become a lot easier over the years in general.. A lot of kids who play games on the PC only know how to start Steam and click on the game they want to play, and it works (magically). :)

    Was always a little disappointed with the texture resolution in the PC version - looked poorer in spots than even the first game at times. This seems like such a huge boost. Considering how easy it is to run this game 60FPS at 1920x1080 on even middling hardware, I can't see any reason why people wouldn't download this.

    @Vitor: Well, the biggest downside seem to be the loading times. I haven't even tried it yet, so I can't tell how many times it has to load up all the textures.. it says less than 5 minutes for the very good resolution and 12-15 minutes for the ultra high res textures. I'll give it a shot in the coming week and let you know or if anyone else is going to try it.. please let us know. :)

    Except that config files are part of the product. It's not something extra that you have to "go get" later on. It's one thing to go get a third party mod that makes Oblivion look and play better. It's another thing to buy the PC version of the game, install the PC version of the game, and then have to go download a separate pack for the PC graphics. I mean, why would you not just include that in the downloaded/purchased game? When they do that, it strikes me with the same bad taste that only having "low, medium, high" options for graphics do (instead of just giving me all the options I could want or providing an editable config).

    Don't get me wrong - I'm glad it's there. It's better than not having it at all . . . it's just kind of silly. It's like ordering a big mac and getting two buns and some sauce and then being asked "oh, did you want hamburger on your hamburger?".

    At least it looks a little better here than the DAII version did, though. Even with the 1.1gb hi-res pack, DAII still looked kind of crappy.

    @Branthog: Yeah, it's just the way it is right now.. complaining about console ports doesn't help. Putting in high resolution textures seems to be extra work that's not worth doing for most games, there's nothing you can do about it. It's kinda crazy when you look at some really really old games that have better looking textures than any console game out there.. especially the terrain textures.

    Looks significantly better. Protip for jackasses, don't base high res texture mods on how it looks in  fucking thumbnail. Seriously, how some of you get your pants on in the morning is a complete mystery.

    Most interesting thing is you can download textures for Tali that make her face slightly more visible beneath her visor!

    @FritzDude: You should find it and post it. Not because I don't believe you, I do, it's just that I want to see it.

    A bit off topic though, but hey:

    It's not the best showcase either.

    Wow, that looks amazing!

    It doesn't look that much better to be honest. Though it's nice to see they fixed Garrus' blurry face mark.

    Open the fullscreen version. At first, I was like "Looks slightly better... maybe" then I opened fullscreen and my jaw dropped.

    I did, and my jaw didn't drop.

    I guess you can't spot shit textures? Garrus armor annoyed me to no end whenever i saw him up close in cut scenes. At least this mod adresses this issue. I alwasy found it weird that ME2 has such a huge variety in quality textures. Some looked pretty good, and others just looked horrible as all fuck.

    But i guess the reason behind it was to optimize console performance. Its just sad they didn't correct that for the PC port.

    Garrus' scar looks a lot more gruesome and vivid!  The hood details for Tali looks a lot more like cloth too - ah it's beautiful.  :)
