Just wanted to know how many hours were spent on your first playthroughs, did you just want to get to the end or did you mine every planet dry, and complete every side mission. Also what difficulty did you play on. My first playthrough came in at 45h33m, playing on normal difficulty, and I'm pretty sure i did every side mission.
Mass Effect 2
Game » consists of 21 releases. Released Jan 26, 2010
After a violent death by an unknown force and a timely reanimation by the human supremacist organization Cerberus, Commander Shepard must assemble a new squad in the seedier side of the galaxy for a suicide mission in the second installment of the "Mass Effect" trilogy.
Length of your first Mass Effect 2 Playthrough?
My first was 22 hours, didn't do every side mission but did all the Illium, Omega and Citadel side missions, some N7 missions and all of the loyalty missions. Was a Vanguard on Normal.
Doing every side mission on the second one as a sentinel on Veteran. Got about 13 hours so far and done all N7 and hub city missions, doing the loyalty ones now of which I have Tali, Jack, Samara, Thane and Legion left to do.
37 hours. I didn't do all the side missions. But I did all the loyalty quests and did a lot of talking to people.
40 hours, I scanned almost every planet for anomalys (probably left 15%, I couldn't wait any longer to see the end) did all the loyalty missions and did a lot of talking.
27 hours on my first play through. As much as I wanted to continue doing every little thing...the main story was just so good and so engrossing that I just ended up going for it. Second play through was shorter, about 20 hours as all I did was the main missions and loyalty missions for the most part. Just started my third, going to take some more time to do more side missions this time before I go any farther.
31 hours. Talked to just about everybody, did every quest I could find, did all loyalty missions, and was playing on Normal.
At the point I beat the story I was right around 37:48(I think). Afterwards I went and scanned every planet for side quests, did every side quest on each of the big cites and bought all the upgrades I had. That save file is just a few minutes over exactly 50:00. I'm pretty impressed, to 100% Mass Effect 1 I put 40 hours in and that was with all the stupid empty planets.
EDIT: It was on normal.
Approx 40 hours (on normal), I didn't do every side mission, but I did quite a few and scanned quite a few planets to get a bunch of upgrades towards the end.
63 hours and a few minutes over, on Veteran. I read all codex entries, talked to everyone I could, constantly checked up on crewmates to see if they had any problems, did all assignments, explored every planet, did all N7 Anomaly quests, all Loyalty quests, bought every upgrade possible (Possible for that playthrough - I missed a Heavy Pistol to scan in the field, I think it was on Haestrom). I basically did every single thing you can do in the game and really fleshed it out.
Did every mission in the game save for the Patriarch one (I didn't even find it until my second playthrough) on Veteran difficulty and it was about 45 hours.
About 35 hours on hardcore.

My first playthrough was 28h.09m on Insanity after the last mission was completed and 31h.15m after I scanned all the planets and did all the side missions (I switched the difficulty to Veteran after I finished the last mission).

I had no idea you could continue on with the game after beating the main story. Guess that means I don't have to do every little sidequest before going to the final mission.
I finished my first playthrough in 34 hours and I was glad to get so much content, I did every side mission and got most of the upgrades, had about 10 small ones to get and had no team members die, veteran difficulty.
About half way through my Insanity playthrough now, some of these encounters are a real bitch, thank god for tech armour
Yeah at a certain point you'll know you're about to go on the last mission. It is a good idea to just go do it and not mess around too much before it(you can still finish up loyalty missions). If you wait too long there will be certain repercussions. You can always go and do the side quests later. Also save before going on the mission.
31 hours for me. I did everyone's side missions and bought all the ship upgrades as well. Long ass game if you take your time and enjoy it. I'm glad Bioware is one of the few developers making games more than 6-8 hours long.
"Only 16 saves? I had around 210 when I finished, 4 different save slots. ;)
"
Took 30 hours for me to finish.
