Seriously I'll be really sad if Shepard is dead.  I don't think he is though, pretty sure that I read that you'd play as Shepard in the sequel in an interview somewhere recently.  Although maybe you could play as Shepard's kid and maybe you're looking for revenge?  Wouldn't mind that.  Heck they could even take a romance sub quest that you did in the first game to tie into that.

When i read the title, i thought it was going to be a light gun game or something...I dunno...But yeah looks ace, I didnt really rate mass effect 1 as highly as KoToR or jade empire so lets hope this can be better than the first.

Fans of Mass Effect don't just want a sequel-- we need it. Like air. Watching this trailer...I never expected anything like this. I was psyched for the game before but now I'm REALLY psyched. *squee!*

I played Mass Effect on my PC and had a great time with it... glad I saved my saves when I deleted it off my harddrive. I haven't checked, but I think I have two more times I can put it back on my harddrive before DRM kicks in. I think another play through is in order. Man I wish Steam would have had it when I bought it... DRM is strange. I could still buy Mass Effect 2 on Steam. I don't think I'll play Mass Effect 2 on my Xbox 360, it was such a good experience on my PC.

This is crazy! This is an incredible teaser with crazy turns! Man, is he really dead?! Or is he secretly undercover? Or did he just vanish, and so they are saying he is K.I.A?

This teaser just totally bums me out. Come on, I have a level 60 fem Shepard ready to go! I mean, what the hell... I understand how this builds some hype--the teaser is really well produced, too--but spending hours and hours getting attached to a character that is not going to carry over to the sequel diminishes the feel of continuity between the two games. I mean, having to play a different character in the second game creates a real disconnect between the two games. I hope it is just for the hype and the rumors of being able to carry over your saves is true.

On a side note: call me weird, but I hope Tali is romancable in this game (not necessarily physical, though).

Okay, I hated Mass Effect.

Awesome! I hope the Mako m.k. II turns out to be a tranformer with jet packs, and separates into five smaller vehicles with a chest sword and an oversized yo-yo. Okay, maybe not the last part, but I'm hoping!

This made me smirk in an appreciative manner. They managed to set up and execute not one, but two tantalizing twists in a 1 minute teaser. Most impressive.

Wow.  Mass Effect 2: AWESOME!!  This is one of those games that I've been so looking forward to hearing information about so I'm psyched right now.  Watching that trailer sent shivers down my back.

So it does look initially like there's some huge twist that has happened, but I agree with Maxszy's comment that it's likely that Shepard is going to be reported officially as dead since he needs it as cover to carry out some super-secret investigation - he's a Spectre after all and that's exactly the type of thing they do.

What's the deal with the Geth having the N7 tag?  Been month's since I played and it's significance is lost on me atm.  Was that the logo of the Normandy - I forget?

I seriously doubt Shepard is dead, my guess is there's a point in the story where Shepard fakes His death in order to further His mission in some way.

This has been my most anticipated game of the foreseeable future for some time now.  Bravo Bioware, that is the case even more now.

I thought the first game was horrible.  Using the rover was just painful, and the combat wasnt exactly great.  I really couldnt get into the story either. Sadly havent liked a Bioware game since KoTOR.
