I beat ME2 with paragon and renegade and im tempted to play through again as a femshep but im wondering does much change? Is it worth it going through the game again as a female shepard?
Mass Effect 2
Game » consists of 21 releases. Released Jan 26, 2010
After a violent death by an unknown force and a timely reanimation by the human supremacist organization Cerberus, Commander Shepard must assemble a new squad in the seedier side of the galaxy for a suicide mission in the second installment of the "Mass Effect" trilogy.
Worth it going through again as a femshep?
Nothing changes, except for the relationship stuff, obviously.
The rest of the dialogue might as well be identical. ...They should really change that for ME3...
Jennifer Hale's a better actor, for the most part, and you get to look at her tight space butt.
IMO Jennifer Hale's VO is much better than Mark Meer. Other than that, A few bits of NPC dialogue are different (there's a funny Renegade interrupt during the conversation with the merc recruiter on Omega), but the romance options suck aside from Liara. I'm not sure you can go that route from a fresh ME2 Shepard, but you could always use the save editor if you're playing on PC.
It doesn't change that much, but Jennifer Hale is an awesome voice actor and it's always worth it to play ME again with a new gender/class/choices/etc =)
Its kind of crazy given how many playthroughs I've done for Mass Effect, but I have no interest in finishing a Femshep run.
I've only ever played it through as a femshep, every character I've started with dudeshep sounds really awkward and scripted. Jennifer Hale's voice acting is definitely better, IMO.
Jennifer Hale is a better voice actor and just makes the experience so much better. Plus this must be stressed, how else are you supposed to get it on with Garrus? I mean come on! That's why you play Mass Effect! For the hopes that the romance between Shep and Garrus actually happens. He is after all the best character in the game and even a Turian needs a little love.
" It's only worth going through as FemShep. "This. Seriously, the voice acting is so much better. There isn't much that's different just for being female as people have said, but it's also an opportunity to change up some other things as well. Damn, I'm already contemplating a fifth playthrough. :/ Nah, New Vegas is on the way.
I had a tough time committing to the woman (story of my life), but wanted to do things as differently as possible to keep my second play through fresh.
Though the dialog doesn't change much, I sense a lot of tension between Shep and Miranda now, like there's a bit of a power struggle going on. I think the voice acting is better too, looking forward to playing as evil lady Shep in ME3 though. I don't think I've got the endurance to go through more than twice.
Besides the romance options, there is actually a plot that's slightly changed. The dialogue is basically the same but the character involved is different.
I agree with @Landru: too that there seems to be a different dynamic between femshep and Miranda.

Though I was severely disappointed that
I'm actually using the different genders to reflect different play styles. My male Shepard is my all genuine boy scout who does everything out of the goodness of his heart and many of the choices reflect on how I would do it if I stood before the challenge.
While my female Shepard is the one that does it the way I see to be the best for the situation, mostly being renegade options because they are rather awesome. I mean you're quite the dick but it's dickish with authority and proper power behind it. She's a true badass.
My main is a femshep but I don't think it's worth going back just for the love interests/NPC stuff. However, the difference between Paragon/Renegade and having a save of each ready for ME 3 is totally worth it.
I have difficulty playing a female character in roleplaying games, I don't know why. I guess I just can't relate or something, I don't feel as invested and I almost always end up starting a new game as a male character instead.

" Jen Hale for me any day. Fem Shep could have used a default face on par with Male Shep though. "I think the default male Shepard looks dumb as hell. I can't stand it.
To all the people saying Mark Meer's voice acting is worse, I can't imagine playing the game without him. I'm quite aGAINst Jennifer Hale in the game. I don't know what you people are talking aBOOT. I like my Shepard being nice and Canadian.
YES YES YES YES YES. Female Shepard is way better in my opinion. Her line deliveries almost make it feel like a different game. You actually get some emotion instead of mostly stiff dialog that sounds like it was cut and pasted. I should say though, that I don't think male Shepard turns in a terrible performance, but you'll notice the difference immediately.
" You should've played as femshep from the beginning. :P "Ha-ha, well said. What I usually do is play Paragon (light side, good, etc...) female and Renegade (dark side, evil, etc...) male. That way I get to see both sides of the game and both options based around the gender, if any exist. In ME2's case, if you've already played both personality types, then the only real reasons are to hear a better voice actress in Jennifer Hale and to play another spec/class. If you haven't played a full Adept class, I suggest that. You should be up to the challenge by this time.
My main character is Paragon FemShep, if you like playing Mass Effect 2, then I see no reason to find an excuse for another playthrough, even if not much is really different (ZOMG BEWBZ!!111) I agree as well that she has a better voice actor, male Shepard seems to go a bit monotone at times.
" Yes. If only because you play more Mass Effect. "Perfect answer.
I like how they both sound and had a good time playing through as both. I especially liked Mark's delivery of the final dialog sequence between Shepard and The Illusive Man. You know, where I told him what's-what and how things were going to be from there on out.
I prefer male shep to female shep. And I prefer his voice acting, less emotion is more emotion. Maybe I'm just sexist but I can't take a female commander as seriously. One playthrough as a female adept, never played as a female again. Oddly enough, I've never played through as the actual Shepard. Everytime I pick John Shepard I always end up re starting with my own.
It's worth going through the game again just because the game is awesome. You can always make different choices, you know.
Not that this is really a sign of quality or anything, but Jennifer Hale was nominated for a VGA for her work as Shepard while Mark Meer was not. Take that for what you will.
I can't recommend it that much because I personally do not like the female Shepard voice actress one bit.
