I just started playing Mass Effect 3 by importing my save from Mass Effect 2. By doing so, my character has started the game at level 31. However, the game has saw fit to distribute my skill points for me and not in the way I want...

To those who have progressed farther in the game, does the opportunity to retrain your skills ever arise?

Yes, just go to the medical station on the Normandy and you can respec any time. Costs 5000 credits, I think.

For the low price of 400 Bioware points.

I think the first respec is free, it was for me.

It's free the first time you do it. After that it's 5000 credits.

And here I was about to say "no", but earlier answers say that you can.

I'm nine hours in and I would recommend against it, though. I would be thoroughly surprised if I finished without everything fully upgraded as I am now. But, it's your choice. It's not really a big deal either way.

Respec can be done in the Normandy medical bay.
Respec cost starts at 0 and goes up by 5000 credits each time you do it.
