I'm not familiar with this horde mood mode.

Well Horde Mood is when you play a game that painstakingly tries to emulate a decent firefight/Gears of war Horde mode and fails, therefor putting you in the mood for a good game of Horde.
 
All in all it sounds little more then decent.
Hell its probably a lot of fun but I'm not seeing the lasting appeal.
I rather chainsaw or just plain shoot a Locust in the head in Gears, then get swarmed by enemies who have biotic shields on top of their normal shields, underwhich they have armor and then 2 gauges of health. 
Bio can surprise me with this, but I'm not expecting something amazing (nor am I expecting something amazing from the SP either).
 
And I'm a pretty big goddamn ME fan.

Sounds like horde mode but better integrated. By the sounds of it, the better you do in this survival mode, events in certain battles in your single player game will change. That sounds like it could be a really good hook for me.

EDIT: Also this allows me to play as a Krogan. Copy sold (like it wasn't already...).

@endaround: Nothing I've heard sounds particularly horde mode. It sounds like it will have its own storyline which means mission objectives beyond surviving waves of enemies... though I wouldn't mind a horde mode in addition to the campaign stuff.
