I've just started playing ME3, and I am wondering, is it worth playing? I am asking this because I am reading doom messages all over the internet! Should I stay in my nostalgia and keep playing digimon world, or should I start playing Mass Effect3, and find out for myself?
Mass Effect 3
Game » consists of 19 releases. Released Mar 06, 2012
When Earth begins to fall in an ancient cycle of destruction, Commander Shepard must unite the forces of the galaxy to stop the Reapers in the final chapter of the original Mass Effect trilogy.
Mass Effect 3, play it or leave it.
You mean someone has something bad to say about a videogame on the internet!?
I believe the consensus to be that it is a good game. I think it is great, really enjoyed the time I spent with it. The outrage is over 10 - 20 minutes at the end. Don't let that ruin 30+ hours of a good game.
If you haven't played the first two in the trilogy then you won't see what the big deal is either positively or negatively. If you have, then the game absolutely delivers. Terrific game in my opinion but I'm very invested in the series.
It's an excellent game, especially if you played the first two. Your choices carry over in some pretty interesting ways and overall, it's a blast to play. Make your own mind up about the ending when you get to it, but even if you don't like it, the ride is well worth the price of admission.

If you ever enjoyed Me2 go for it its a very well made it, even without it has a good pacing and the socialising and shooting is solid, tis all bout the journey.
There we go.
Definitely worth play especially if you've played 1 and 2. The character interaction stuff is top notch and the story has more of an epic feel than 2. Play on hardcore for extra challenge and you'll get a solid, 40-hr experience out of it. ME3 has its problems (including, yes, the ending) but I enjoyed it.
It's a terrific game. All the Internet hate is based on the final few cutscenes, not even really the whole ending, which incorporates many excellent battle sequences and story segments. And the hate over the final few cutscenes is pretty overblown anyway. There are some legitimate gripes with it, but as far as it being so bad that it ruins the entire game and such, a bit dramatic if you asked me.
We're missing vital information: Did you play the first two?
Although honestly, everything pales in comparison to Digimon World.
The entire experience is amazing, the ending might sour it a little, but get a grip and realize there's been tons of movies and books that end kinda lackluster, doesn't mean you didn't enjoy all that came before it.
(Yes, a game is different, but I'm talking about the ride here).
@Timothie: Yeah play it, but go in with the knowledge that the last 20 Minutes was written by 2 dudes out of the whole writing team, and that it was written for the sole purpose of causing (Direct quote from Mac Walters) "Lots of Speculation."
I only reason I would say to hold off on it, is if you cared about the story from the past 2 games.
You should. I was pretty wary myself due to the negative responses online, but I just finished and really enjoyed the game (and even the ending, but I tend to like unexpected or complicated finishes). I found this article by Tom Bissell (of the book Extra Lives) to be pretty true to my experience: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7694386/on-mass-effect-3.
You might want to steel yourself for a less than stellar ending but totally, yes, play that game. Whatever happens at the end, the rest of the single-player is fantastically made and is still doing things with its story on a level that no other game out there is. If you haven't played at least Mass Effect 2 first though, I'd advise you to get through that before going onto 3.
The game overall is fantastic. If you're that unsure then maybe wait until that free dlc that adds to the ending is out.

Yes, it's a good game.
Truth.
Is it the best Mass Effect game? I don't think so. And if you haven't played the first two I'd suggest you do that first. Does it end well? No. Not really. At least I don't think so.
But you should play it and come to you're own conclusions. If you want to anyway.
Yes, it's a good game. There are parts of it I didn't care for but it should still be played by anyone who has enjoyed a previous Mass Effect game.
It's a good game, all the fucking whiney bitches out who didn't get the ending they wanted is what's ruining the game, make of the ending what you want, destroy control or integrate, that is the choices your given and so what if it's the same ending just different colours. Yes bioware need to explain to the thick stupid gamers out there what happened at the end.
I think im one of the most dissapointed people on these forums about the ending , but you should definetly play it , it a well made tight game ,,, even more so if you played the other 2 games ... if in the other hand you have never liked the mass effect games , this one wont change your mind.
It's a good game, it just has a trainwreck ending. Let's not get carried away here - the vast majority of the game is still a lot better than the vast majority of other games, and it's not like good endings are particularly commonplace in gaming either. Definitely worth playing if you've played the first two.
The 20+ hours of enjoyment I had overshadowed the 10 minutes of distaste I had at the end. I'd make that trade again.
Mass Effect 3 is an amazing game. Best of the series imo.
The ending takes a bit away, but the rest of the 99% of the game is far and away the best game I've played since Skyrim. Might even put it over Skyrim.

Game is awesome. The "doom messages" all over the internet concern the last 15 minutes of the game, which I agree were completely botched. Everything leading up to that point is pretty great, and the multiplayer is loads of fun if you like co-op / horde modes.
If you REALLY are afraid of the ending disappointing you, wait until the summer after it's been updated with the "directors cut" DLC. It might not fix everything, but I have to think that whatever they add will be for the better.
If you played the first two, or even just ME2, you owe it to yourself to play ME3.
Really, there is no excuse not to play it when you already have the game.

It's way worse than 2 but has its moments. If I knew what I did now I'd have waited for it to come down in price.
It feels more enclosed than 2 ever did, that and the lack of squad mates really bugged me.
7 squad mates is plenty. More then ME1.

Compared to 2 it pales in comparison, James and Edi are wastes of space. It's more quality over quantity, and 2 had both of that. ME1 had Wrex. Wrex.
I'm thinking that 7 includes the DLC? I didn't support that stupidness, so it was 6 for me.
I think the answer to this question depends on whether you have any experience with the prior games or not.
If you have played before, then I think you will find it to be the most uneven of the series. There is some great, great stuff in there. Then again, the end is in there too, along with several obnoxious gameplay elements like the quest log and "hide-and-seek" scanning.
If you haven't played the series before, then I say go for it. You might not get as much out of the really good moments (the quality of which mainly comes from having prior experience with the characters involved and some series in-jokes), but the ending and gameplay stuff probably won't piss you off as much either.
If you haven't played the series and are looking for good compromise, go and give the first two a try, since they are now cheap. By the time you finish them, the "Extended DLC" will probably be out and we'll all know if the ending is any less crappy.
Not as deep as one, not as much content as two. it has its moments, but about 2/3 of the way through, i was just ready for it to end. i felt the same way about 2 though. i just don't think typical cover-based shooting can be stretched for 30 hours without me getting a little tired of it.
I'm one of the people who hated the ending but still think everyone should play it.
It's got an incredible story with great characters and writing. It's the last 10 minutes that anyone is critical of. Play without hesitation.

Yes, I was talking about the end, should have mentioned it. Then again I did not play ME 1 or 2, is it recommendable to play those two first?
Absolutely! Lots of the events and choices in ME3 are based on your actions in the first two games, and are completely out of your hands if you don't import a character into the game. Start with ME1. It has some control and gameplay issues that were ironed out later, but I'd say that it has by far the best overall story of all three games.
