Mass Effect 3, what would you guys like to see ?

I'm talking, planets? companions? stories? features? etc...

Just give me more mass effect 2 and I'll be happy.

A fucking amazing ending to this amazing trilogy.

The planets need to have a sense of scale, so bigger areas, not necessarily free roaming on an open world.
The companions...hmm...I'm fine with anything.
The story needs to be good. Better than Mass Effect 2's.
As for features, the loot and a better inventory would be ideal. And they announced that a long time ago, so yeah.
The combat could stand to be funner than the other ones.

Also, congrats for your first post.

Like Mass Effect 2, but more of it and shinier.

Have more diversity in the weapons than just a new gun that replaces your old one only a few times in ME2, but not like ME1 where you are given way too much loot that is only needed to sell for money to get better gear.   Then again, even the excess loot wouldn't be a problem if they just had a better inventory screen than that mess that was the ME1 inventory menu.

Also figure a way to do planet roaming but with the Hammerhead or similar hovercraft, not the Mako exactly.  If they do this, add a lot more interesting big alien monster moments than just "oh look, ANOTHER thresher maw".

Also they should ripoff Dead Space 2's brilliant idea to have collapsible helmets, to solve the issue in ME2 where certain actions like drinking look weird when Shepard doesn't take his helmet off in the cutscenes.

Finally (and this is definitely the most subjective point I'll make), I would like to have them sort of go back to the style of music that was in ME1 as that made the universe feel more original and unique to me personally.  I love orchestral moments as much as the next guy, but Bioware's usage of it made the events feel a little too much like a generic action moment than a Mass Effect moment (at least for the ears anyway).

Agreed. Though I guess I'm the only one that actually miss the Mako. Found the Hammerhead to be quite boring, myself.
Also, yes a hundred times over on the music. I was really saddened to see the more distinct soundtracks from the first game gone in favor of that orchestral snooze. At least they kept uncharted worlds.

More banter between the characters, DA:O style. A larger focus on character development (see Kotor), and I'd actually like companions to have opinions about the missions and choices you make, instead of just keeping quiet (again, see Kotor). Planet exploration that's actually fun would be nice to have too.

Oh about the mako I should probably clarify something there.  I love the Mako and never had issues with it, but for all the people that bitched about the goddamn physics of the Mako and rough terrain, hovercrafts with some crafty coding would solve one of the most major issues with the planet roaming in ME1 for a lot of people.

More retro 80's style music ala Mass 1. The Presidium was my favorite Mass Effect track.

I also liked that track.  Also for anyone else that remembered it, I hope the end credits has another song like the song from Faunts used in Mass Effect 1.  What an awesome song to listen to right after you finished the game.  Video provided for those who don't remember it:

I just want some of the weapon and inventory stuff back. Not saying i liked how they pulled it off in ME, but ME2 didn't let me do jack shit of the things i wanted to.

#18 Posted by yogetoutdaway (126 posts) -
@No0b0rAmA: He rhymes leopard with Shepard. Ironic. I made my Shepard's first name Leopard.

Actually they should have a side mission where you literally make a video advertisement using this song.  It would be feasible, further the side plot of Shepard's marketing efforts for discounts and be simply awesome all at the same time!
#20 Posted by Toms115 (2316 posts) -

i want the campaign to be on par with me1's. i love me2 but its story just isn't as good as the first game's.

#21 Posted by Balex1908 (143 posts) -

More loot, more exploration, more side quests(the companion quests dont count as side quests).
And I hope they dont take away your whole crew again. Just throw me back in where I left.

#22 Posted by LordXavierBritish (6320 posts) -

I want to fuck Wrex.

#23 Posted by jjnen (660 posts) -

Gay sex.

Seriously though, just more Mass Effect 2 and I'll be fine.

#24 Posted by xpxTomxqx (138 posts) -

I want a further expanded universe, like if it's the final to the trilogy just give us more planets, more aliens and more characters!

#25 Posted by crusader8463 (14414 posts) -

ME 2 kind of made me lose all interest I had in that series after killing Shepard right from the get go just so they could force this stupid story on me, and the ending, so I'm going in expecting nothing. I hope they take the time to build companions that are actually interesting to learn about, because other then Wrex and Moradin none of the games have had a character I gave shit about. They all just felt like generic NPC's following me around, and I never got attached to any of them because they were all boring characters.

I'm also hoping they remember to add in the RPG this time around, since they forgot to put that in ME2.

An ending worthy of the trilogy.

I'm already having trouble believing that Reapers aren't as strong as previously mentioned, I mean, they attack Earth and Shep still gets the fuck out in time? I thought these things harvested the sodding planet in a day or less!

Can we send this guy to Bioware please?  I agree with the whole thing. I'D also add i'd like to game a bit more rpgish like ME. ME2 had a tad too much focus on 3rd person shooting to my taste.
#29 Posted by tourgen (4427 posts) -

planetary exploration with plenty of wild alien landscapes and environments
some good RPG elements and gear
decent hacking etc. mini-games or just cut them out with a hot knife
less of a BS red/blue system - shep should have a full rep by act III.  now let us just roleplay our version of shep without filling up stupid bars

#30 Posted by blueaniman93 (604 posts) -
@PhatSeeJay: All I want is this. Bioware probably knows better than me on what should be in ME3 and I am going to trust them because they promised a conclusion to the trilogy.
#31 Posted by HerbieBug (4212 posts) -

I want the following things that were taken out of the first game to be put back in:

-loot
-player accessible inventory
-armor equippable to all characters
-the better navigation interface without the stupid little ship and the waste of time refueling stations
-speech checks to be tied to player points (as in ME1) instead of tied to alignment strength (as in ME2).  I hated being near the end game and not being able to pass certain speech checks because I missed one or two alignment boosting encounters.

That can be solved by giving the player back their inventory and just putting the helmet toggle back in.  Let me have control of that like the first game.

I want Sandal to appear somewhere somehow

#34 Posted by TheWalkingDemon (30 posts) -

I want more of the RPG elements of the first game, and less shitty 3rd person combat

#35 Posted by timmysprinkles (75 posts) -
@TheWalkingDemon: This may just be me, but I'd like them to improve the 3rd person combat and not make a huge jump into RPG elements. I think Mass Effect 2 benefited a lot by moving into more action-oriented gameplay.

This is a loaded question.

#37 Posted by project343 (2812 posts) -

An epic conclusion with a proper antagonist (akin to ME1), the accumulation of all story threads and decisions, returning of most past companions, and M/M romances. :D

#42 Posted by Jiggah (308 posts) -

Removable helmets.  Seriously, how is it that they had this option in 1, but not in 2?  WTF.

#43 Posted by tekshow (67 posts) -

I want the badass action of ME2 combined with the RPG elements of ME1, and even more fleshed out with better inventory and options. The story is going to be insane, that's a given, because they're closing up the trilogy.

Some great planet roaming would be nice, but here's the thing, they need to give you stuff to do! Both the Mako and Hammerhead were pretty boring side diversions. I liked the Hammerhead better, but you didn't really use it as part of the story except in the Overlord.

Normandy space battles like Skies of Arcadia would be f-ing awesome!

#44 Posted by gbpackers94 (116 posts) -

I want it to be exactly like Mass Effect 2 but with more missions and more/bigger cities. Maybe if a little of it took place on Earth it would be cool.
