Missing DLC, so game won't load.

So my Xbox is off being repaired at the moment. So I borrowed my brothers 360 to finish off ME3. Problem is, his ethernet port is broken (yay for messed up Xbox consoles), I ahve not got a wireless adapter. Now when I go to load up my last save game it won;t load as From Ashes is missing. Now It is there on my HDD. This happened to me in ME2, so I just deleted the content and re downlaoded it, and the problem was solved. However I have no internet connection. Anyone had this problem and solved it a different way? Or am I going to have to wait for the return of my old Xbox. Also does anyone know why this happens :/

Your stuck until you can get From Ashes.

It happens because there's no way to verify that you're the owner of the DLC since there's no internet connection. It normally wouldn't matter, since you'd be playing on your own 360 where it would recognize you have the license to the content, but since you're not on it, you need to have an internet connection while signed in with your profile. The only way you could potentially fix it is to transfer your license to your brother's 360, but that's probably not advisable (and would also still require an internet connection), since if I'm not mistaken, you can only do those once per year.

I think this advice isn't 100% correct, so don't go transferring your licenses etc. I don't know about ME3, but in ME2 I couldn't load up my save if I didn't have all the DLC installed, even on my own 360. To clarify, I bought all the DLC, played lots of ME2. Later on, I deleted a few of the pieces (I can't remember which ones, but probably the Firewalker stuff and another one to save some HDD space) and my save wouldn't load because I didn't have all the DLC on my HDD, which I assume is the problem you're having). I had to redownload them (even though I wasn't trying to access the DLC itself) before I could load my game. Even though I was using the same console I always have, that presumably held all the correct licenses, it wouldn't let me access the save.

No tips on how to fix this, I'm afraid! It's a stupid fucking system though. I've got GB's and GB's of ME2 DLC on my HDD that I can't delete until I'm sure I'm done with the game, even though I'm definitely done with that DLC.

How about just waiting?

License transfer is dependant on an internet connection as well, furthermore the cooldown period if 4 months now. You won't be able to play without connecting to the internet.

The reason you need it is because your save has dlc elements saved on to it. Even if your done playing the Kasumi missions, she is still included on your save. Your save expects to have those resources to use, and even though you may not be actively using any of the dlc items/characters/decisions, they are now a part of your save and are thus required in order for you to continue on

This really makes me glad I haven't hooked my Xbox 360 up to the internet in awhile.

Cheers for the feedback, looks like it's a three week wait :/. A stupid system it is indeed
