When Earth begins to fall in an ancient cycle of destruction, Commander Shepard must unite the forces of the galaxy to stop the Reapers in the final chapter of the original Mass Effect trilogy.
Associate art director Matt Rhodes takes us through the design iterations behind the Asari, Krogan, Salarians and Batarians. Krogans originating from picture reference of bats was quite amusing.
Though more amusing was the idea behind Mordin and how they used Clint Eastwood's intense facial expressions when designing the features of an older and battle hardened Salarian. Though now I can't unsee that when looking at Mordin. Oh and it was the first time I heard the Salarians are using their armors like toupees to hide their concave chest.
He's also hinting at new races in ME3, using designs that didn't make it into Mass Effect 1 and 2. They did design the Yahg solely for Lair of The Shadow Broker so I hope we'll see more of those.
It's not as though every species out there develops with two genders. Some have one, and some could have more than two...
I guess I'm in the minority, but I really don't care if we see Krogan/Turien/Salarian "females". I also think it's funny that no one wants to see an Asari female.
" Female, male... what difference does it make? It's not as though every species out there develops with two genders. Some have one, and some could have more than two...

But.....all Asari are female, or were you joking
And I wanna see some female versions of the aliens in ME3, it really bugs me alot that they didn't bother with it in ME1 and 2, it seems lazy somehow, would it have been so difficult? Also it makes the world seem less real, though the NPC's could also be walking around now that I think about it
" @Venatio: All Asari appear female by human standards, but there is no such thing as a female or male Asari. "
But even they said that they're a single gender species, I remember Liara mentioning it
Also were you trying to make a joke earlier then? Shouldn't you have asked "I also think it's funny that no one wants to see an Asari male" instead of what you wrote? What you wrote makes no sense if you think all Asari appear female by human standards
@Venatio: Liara says that her species doesn't truly understand the concept of gender because they have none. Liara only uses the word because it's something Shepard, as a human, would understand.
