Fucking prequels...*chooses D*
Mass Effect
Mass Effect is a science fiction franchise created by BioWare. The main games follow the adventures of Commander Shepard, the first human Spectre, as he/she tries to protect the galaxy from an ancient and malevolent alien race.
Mass Effect > Star Wars?
There are forms of sexually transmitted disease that are better than star wars.
So aye! mass effect is much better than that
Maybe on the same level, but Mass Effect is better.
Because what you do changes the universe.Because it is a game.Actually, now that I think of changing Sci-Fi universes, where the hell is Jedi Knight 3?Damn, those games where awesome.
Anyway, ME wins by an inch.
I think there were really 2 and a half good Star Wars movies, cause about half of episode 6 was fucking terrible.
Ewoks? I think that shit led to Jar Jar. And don't forget about 1-3, the Mass Effect DLCs are worth way more than those. Cerebus armour is worth tenfolds more then those shitty films.
On the other hand, Mass Effect has 2 fantastic games, out of a series of 2 games so far. I think the deciding factor would be ME3, but I'm still putting my bets on Mass Effect.
" No. The Mass Effect series, so far, has one game that's mediocre and one game that's pretty good. Star Wars episodes 4-6, meanwhile, are some of the best movies ever made. Even if you take episodes 1-3 into consideration, Star Wars absolutely demolishes Mass Effect. "I actually thought 3 was pretty good.
Mass Effect has a fairly deep background story.
But it feels Star Trek, Star Wars all rolled up into one with no sense of originality.
Same feeling I get with DA really. It just feels like DnD lite.
I adore them both. But you cannot compare a classic to a barely-established universe.
Star Wars all the way. Mass Effect, though, is certainly a wonderful distraction. If BioWare made a new Star Wars third-person shooter RPG using Mass Effect 2's technology... I would implode.

Though I wouldn't take episodes 1-3 in consideration.
Mass Effect doesn't have an amazing christmas special and therefore will never create anything as wonderful as Chewbacca's son, Lumpy.
Shepard.
Also I kinda don't think they're comparable, pretty much everything in Mass Effect is rooted in some science at some point down the line, pretty much none of Star wars is; SW is basically fantasy in space. Of course ME has much deeper lore, it has the luxury of time, but it doesn't have the immediate fun that SW provides.
Mass Effect People?? Really?? Its a great game but come on, the ending of Mass Effect 2:
Besides that its an incomplete trilogy, if you are comparing the original star wars trilogy to current mass effect trilogy then star wars wins hands down.
Absolutely. Mass Effect is this generation's Star Wars but better because George Lucas can't screw with it.
" Mass Effect People?? Really?? Its a great game but come on, the ending of Mass Effect 2:If Mass Effect 3 is half the game ME2 is, Mass Effect 3 will be better than Episode 6.
Besides that its an incomplete trilogy, if you are comparing the original star wars trilogy to current mass effect trilogy then star wars wins hands down. "Oh lets say the collectors are making a huge human out of the DNA and other mush that was liquefied from thousands of abducted humans. Because you know, a giant reaper human is totally cool!
I like to remember Star Wars by the first 3 films, as the recent 3 were abysmal, although I loved them for what they are when they were released.
The Mass Effect universe seems similar to what our universe would be like given enough time. The thing Brad mentioned on the Bombcast
about the new space suits seems awesome (Google "NOVA next generation space suits").
Mass Effect's universe has better races in my opinion, is more in line with reality, and the plot (at least the overall plot, not the one in the 2nd game)
is just outstanding in my opinion.
Choice D for sure.
Mass Effect's characters are like the retarded children of the original trilogy's. They're great games, but my God, let's actually think about what we're saying.
" Personally, I voted D. For that reason plus I'm seriously considering buying the ME novels and that says something in of itself. "Don't forget the comic books.
But they have a ton of books for Star Wars too that can be read
& ought to be interesting. They have bridge stories between the
movies & even a trilogy after the first three, I think.
The big problem with the comparison is that Star Wars is DATED.
Most of us who saw it as kids have outgrown it & looking back on
it we can't help but think it's a bit bullshit. I wonder if we'll feel
that way about ME 20 years from now?
I voted C, but that's because I'm mostly thinking of Star Wars Episode 4. As an individual movie, that's better than ANY part of Mass Effect. But the more Star Wars that came after it, the worse it got, which is the opposite of true for Mass Effect.
Also, as cool as Wrex is, he's just not QUITE as cool as Han Solo.
The Original Star Wars trilogy wins hands down, just look at the villains
Star Wars: A black/white guy in the coolest cyborg suit ever with a cape and Pope Benedict XVI,
Mass Effect: or a bunch of bugs, talking space ships, and a giant human robot baby that feeds on People.
Come on, unless Mass Effect 3 is amazing and ends in a good arc there is no way it can be better.
The one way to tell a true Stars Wars fan from anyone else. Ask them who their favorite character is. If they say Han Solo they're a true SW fan. Otherwise....SHUN THEM.
I'd say both are on par, but ME as a different form of media allows far more depth than the Star Wars original film trilogy. I personally think ME's space racism and creationism is more interesting than Star Wars' eternal battle between good and evil. Jedis and sith are cool and all, but that type of concept is overdone to this point.
to early to say since we only have 66% of the mass effect story.
ME3 might be crap and ruin the series in the eyes of gamers and critics just like how star wars kind of got crap after the first 2 movies.
if we try and block the prequels and return of the Jedi out and the star was universe is pretty damn fantastic.
if you compare just Mass effect 1 and 2 with the first 2 star wars movies then thats a tough choice.
