From what I've seen, I say skip 'em. Besides ME2 is coming soon.

Bring Down the Sky is fairly short (2-3 hours max, probably closer to 1-2 hours for most people) but is a decent story add-on if you have nothing better to buy.

Pinnacle Station is longer, but extremely boring (it's just a lot of combat, which does not play to Mass Effect's strengths) and I would recommend it only if you are a completionist.

    IMHO it isn't.

I have both of them, and why I won't recommend them is because:
    a) They offer no benifits in ME2
    b) They aren't that interesting.

They are very cut and dry. the only real benefits are the bonus XP and the reward items. The ending to Bringing down the sky is interesting, but I doubt it will continue in ME2.
Pinnicle station is just an EXP farm, more like a death match arena.

Bring Down the Sky - ok, it's a decent buy (still, the PC got it for free). Pinnacle Station is bullshit.

Bring Down the Sky isn't terrible, and it's free on PC.  I could see the decision you make at the end at least getting a mention in ME2.

Bring Down the Sky's mediocre but Pinnacle Station is just terrible. I'd save the money.

They are easy achievement points if that's your thing and you'll need them if you ever plan on S-ranking that game.

I love Mass Effect, but even I think the DLC was poorly done.  Bring Down the Sky has some story elements to it (although Bioware did not list the choices made in that DLC being carried over to ME2), but Pinnacle Station is just awful due to its lack of story and huge focus on combat.

Skip both of them unless you really enjoy the combat in Mass Effect.
