Overview
Forged by the Sages of Hyrule with powerful, ancient magic, the Master Sword is an instantly recognizable weapon from The Legend of Zelda series. Iconic in its own right, the Master Sword is Link's ultimate weapon, and rarely fails to be the necessary tool. The Master Sword is one of The Legend Of Zelda's many symbols, as it appears in every Zelda game thus far. Link primarily uses the Master Sword to destroy the forces of evil. The Master Sword, a lightweight, double-edged, single handed broadsword, always has the Triforce etched into it, but other superficial characteristics, such as coloring, have varied in different games. You can also get the Master Sword in Animal Crossing from Tom Nook and put it in your house.
Abilities
The abilities of the Master Sword over the years have been altered slightly, for the most part by decreasing the effectiveness of the sword as a ranged weapon. The first version of the weapon was able to launch magical attacks at distant enemies when Link's health was full, but future versions of the weapon lost this capability. Another ability of the the Master Sword is its power to repel evil, and it can be used to reflect enemy magical attacks back towards Link's opponents.
Also known as the Blade of Evil's Bane, the Master Sword has been an integral plot device and general weapon of Link in the Legend of Zelda franchise for years.
