Matthew Rories tattoo?

In the latest mailbag a tattoo of what looks like a mathematical equation is visible on Rorie's right arm. Anyone know what it is?

He mentioned it once. Something to do with, even though there is so much uncertainty In the world mathematics is always certain... Or something

I can't remember exactly what the equation is, but you're right in that it is an equation.

After some freezeframing of the video, I'm fairly certain the equation reads exp(i x alpha) + 1 = 0 where the x is here a multiplication sign. This equation is easily solved for alpha through Euler's formula, and we get alpha = Pi, where Pi is the famous mathematical constant. @SamFo is probably right that he just picked a pretty looking equation to represent the field of mathematics.

Edit: @FengShuiGod is right that what I thought was alpha is a Pi, so the equation becomes the well known Euler's equation. It makes sense for him to choose it, since it has been called the most beautiful formula in mathematics.

I was really expecting it to be a puppy.

WHAT DO THE NUMBERS MEAN MASON

It's Euler's Identity which is famous for it's mathematical beauty. It gets pretty weird, more than I would want to explain here, especially since I don't know how to do exponents on my keyboard, but yeah.

I think it's a map to one eyed willy's burried treasure.

He is a pretty much a Physics major, maybe it's something to do with that?

Yeah, I totally remember him saying that it is indeed Euler's now that you said that. Nice find.

It is most certainly Euler's Equation
