The long-awaited third Max Payne game finally arrived in May 2012, courtesy of Rockstar Vancouver. Eight years after the end of Max Payne 2, an aging, burnt-out Max finds one last chance to redeem himself while working as a bodyguard for a rich family in Brazil.
I am really surprised with how solid the animations look in this trailer, especially with the body coordination when you aim. Good signs so far for this game.
I absolutely love the way Rockstar does their videos leading up to a games release, well edited documentary style trailers that show more than just flashy bits and try to explain the real mechanics behind their games, offering incite on the concepts they are actually shooting for and coming off as pretty honest about it, makes the game feel better in the end as well. Also their focus on things in Max Payne is spot on, working on making their euphoria magic even better in general and also for the specific needs of the third person shooter with the unique way of tacking combat encounters that is max payne.
This year'll be three years in a row that I buy a R* game in May, and day one. GOD DOES THAT LOOK GOOD!
After wasting money on LAfuckoire, I'm not buying into any more R* hype. Even Max Payne will have to wait for reviews and gameplay videos before i buy it.
As long as it has much better movement & shooting than GTA IV and RDR I am in.
I'll also wait for reviews though, because anything with the Rockstar name on it is apparently review gold, which in turn made me buy L.A. Noire which was a terrible game after the first 3 hours of "Not played anything quite like this before" wore off.
