After the moderate success of our Dead Rising 2: Case Zero LP, we've decided to go ahead and do another one, this time for noir PC classic MAX PAYNE. Max Payne is a cop on the edge with nothing to lose, and he spends most of the game chasing his thirst for revenge after his family is murdered by drug junkies. Max Payne marks one of the first games to bare homage to "The Matrix" with a central core game mechanic revolving around Max's ability to slow down time for as long as he has enough sand in his hour glass. Developers Remedy Entertainment take full advantage of this feature by making Max incredibly fragile - even at full health, a couple wrong moves is all it takes to end his vendetta. Max Payne is also a PC game from the days before checkpointing became "a thing", so you're fully expected to manually save your game whenever you deem it necessary (pro-tip: ALWAYS SAVE AFTER EVERY FIRE FIGHT.). Join us, as we discover this fact the hard way!

    Episode List:

    #1 - Living life a Quarter-Pounder at a Time

#2 - Smarter than the Average Payne

#3 - Wait, what's this game about again?

#4 - "They made a euthanism!" (?)#5 - Press the Use Key to Load the Last Saved Game

#6 - Bullets Instead of Bananas#7 - They don't make games like this anymore

#8 - I guess Max DOES take fall damage!

    #9 - The First Intermission

    #10 - I Believe in Payne

    #11 - Space Babies

#12 - Exactly like Diablo in Every Way

    #13 - Everybody is a Horse (AKA The Max-Payniverse)

    #14 - Rage Quit

    #15 - The Second Intermission

@JJWeatherman I'm going to need it. As the episodes continue on, you'll see me have a great deal of trouble making it past certain parts.

@lordofultima but the second one is missing THE FACE. But I do love the great amount of rag-doll physic jank in the second one.

@lordofultima: Ragdoll jank is the best kind of jank though. The kind of jank that doesn't break the game (usually), and is funny. Like when someone's body clips through a chair and starts flipping out. Violently.

I was wondering who "the other guy" in my BlazeHedgehog channel was.

Of course, I don't know which one of you is Matt and which is Ryan, so introducing yourselves as "he's Matt and I'm Ryan" makes the whole thing meaningless.

    THIS.

The only flaw in Max Payne 2, as far as I'm concerned.

@Infininja: I suppose I should elaborate on the whole name thing.
First off, I'm pretty sure that in at least one incarnation of our introduction we clarified who was who. Unfortunately, we had to scrap around 45 minutes of failed introductions due to technical problems we were having with the game. By the time we got everything working, we were pretty anxious to get started, and I guess we just forgot.

There's a reason we don't address each other by our eName; it makes you feel really fucking dorky. Secondly, referring to one another with pseudonyms that have been used exclusively on the internet for around a decade (In Ryan's case it's been longer), creates this weird disconnect.  I don't expect any of the viewers to know this, but me and Ryan are cousins. It's hard to start addressing someone you've known your entire life with a different name.

I'm the guy who sounds kind of drunk and messes up pronouncing words a lot. In my defense, we recorded this first batch of episodes when I had basically 3 hours of sleep because I'm apparently still a little kid who gets too excited to go to bed the night before I go up to Ashuku's. I'm also the one who talked about Judge shows in the last episode, and the one who mentioned Max Payne on the GBA if that helps you figure out who Ryan is.

I dunno if addressing each other by our internet names is that dorky; it just depends on what you've been called by, by whom, the most. In this case, Ashuku is my cousin Matt, and despite the 6 or 7 years between us age wise, we more or less grew up together. Therefore, I know him best as Matt, and I'm not going to say "HEY ASHUKU" unless it's addressing him like that here, so that you guys know of whom I am speaking. That being said, when I play Left4Dead with another group of friends, everybody there totally refers to me as "Blaze" and I call them by their internet handles because that's primarily what we know each other by.

(I also, for the record, knew a guy in high school who couldn't remember my real name and would occasionally call me "Blaze" in lieu of that and it was always kind of weird).

I'm up to episode #4 now, having replayed Max Payne recently myself I'm enjoying your videos even more. It's kind of fun to compare and contrast the parts where I was dying a lot to yours.

    Great job guys.
