Meat is the edible flesh of animals. It is often seen restoring the health of adventurers and annoying vegans.
Animals that are eaten for life sustainablity and more importantly because they are tasty. Chicken, beef, fish, pork etc; meat comes in many different varieties within a distinct species. Chicken is the essential meat type that most would find themselves eating. The dominant religions in the United States all seem to agree on the notion that poultry in general is " good eatin'. " The United States even has a national holiday in which we celebrate the first Thanksgiving by traditionally roasting, or more recently popular deep frying, an entire turkey.
Next on the line up is the red meat. Beef, lamb, buffalo, bison, etc; are very popular for fine dining and is usually thought of as a step up from chicken. Along with chicken, there are many ways in which to eat these red meats, not to mention the specific parts, (eg. leg, thigh, rib, wing, foot, head, tounge, breast, etc). The specific parts that are eaten, however, vary from culture to culture.
The other white meat, pork has been given a negative stigma through the years. Pigs are actually fairly clean animals, and are not stupid like most would think. On the contrary, they are quite intelligent (on par with domesticated dogs). One thing for sure is that the dominant religions in the United States do not all agree that pork is an acceptable source for protein. Nonetheless, for those that are able to eat pork, its various cooking methods are endless.
