This is one hell of an unforgiving game, it makes me feel spoiled with all those rather easy games we have now a days.
This game is all trial and error, sometimes its pretty cheap really.. like i jump on a platform with spikes under it and just when i land on the platform it disapears...
Anyway ive decided to finish this game no mater how angry i'll be playing it.
This is one of those games that i'll love and hate at the same time.
Mega Man 9
Game » consists of 7 releases. Released Sep 22, 2008
Mega Man returns to his roots in this deliberately retro side-scrolling platformer that simulates the style and simplicity of the first six Mega Man games.
This game makes me feel spoiled and angry.
Playing a game with plenty of cheap deaths that relies on memorisation, makes you feel spoiled? That's dodgy logic.
"Dalai said:actually there is an achievement in it that you get for completing it under 30 min. So its quite possible to do finish it even quicker."I lasted a grand total of 56 minutes today... the most frustratingly awesome 56 minutes I've had in a while."Couldn't last the full hour? For shame...for shame."
"Dalai said:If I had played another 4 minutes, my TV would suffer the consequences... so it's for the best that I didn't go the whole hour."I lasted a grand total of 56 minutes today... the most frustratingly awesome 56 minutes I've had in a while."Couldn't last the full hour? For shame...for shame."
And I haven't seen the last of Mega Man 9!
It's hard but it's not THAT hard. It's pretty much about memorizing patterns. There are some cheap deaths, I agree. Like that thing that grabs you and hurls you at spikes in later stages or those things that pop out of pits (which, I know, existed in other games. But the timing here seems a little off, but maybe it's just me).
But once you've got those patterns it gets... I won't say easy, but at least normal. You know what's coming and you know how to avoid. It's just a matter of doing it.
Personaly I thought it was easier than the older Mega Mans, like 2 or 3 for one main reason. You can buy as many E-Tanks as you want. I knowm the pride of some will no allow them to use it. But the fact is that it's there, and they are extremely cheap. I used two in the final boss battle and that left me with 5 in stock. That's a lot of E-Tanks.
Now, for ridiculously punishing difficulty and levels that make you want to pluck your hair out and throw your videogame out of the window, now that Mega Man 1 offers me to this day.
"Endogene said:LAWL!!!"AaronBelfast said:My wiimote flinging arm is used every night and I don't even have a Wii.""Double the anger eh?"pretty much, my wiimote flinging arm will probably be used this evening"
This game is definitely challenging, but by no means cheap. This is how all of these games started out. You play, trial-and-error, until you've figured a level well enough to get to the Robot Master in good shape, so you can take him ( and now her) on. So far, I'm totally excited by what I've seen (only had a chance to try out three stages) and I'm going to keep coming back for more.
Ugh, not a big deal, but man, I just noticed this game isn't even in 480p. Widescreen is no big deal, but at least give me my Progressive, Capcom. >: (
I'll report back on how long it takes for this game to make me cry.
EDIT
10 minutes. BS spikes in splash woman's level... I hate this game!! :*O
I'll play it more later.
