Mega Man X4 is the fourth game in the Mega Man X series. Players can choose to play either as plasma cannon shooting X for attacking at a distance, or sword saber wielding Zero for up close melee action.

As the first Mega Man X tailored for the Playstation console (also ported to Saturn and PC), Mega Man X4 is a marriage of familiar Mega Man X style gameplay with new mechanics,such as the ability to play the entire game with Zero, X's mentor and anime-style cutscnes
