    A supporting character in the Metal Gear Solid series. Mei Ling invented Snake's wireless communication equipment, the Codec, as well the Soliton Radar, which detects the positions and field of vision of nearby enemy soldiers.

    Overview

    A member of Snake's support staff throughout the Shadow Moses crisis. She worked closely with the Philanthropy group formed by Otacon and Snake in the lead up to, and during, the Big Shell crisis, supplying Snake with equipment stolen from her then-employers.

    She once again came to Snake's aid in 2014 while serving aboard a old war vessel, the USS Missouri. As the ship was not under the control of the SOP System, Mei Ling used it to convey Snake and his allies in their pursuit of Liquid Ocelot's mighty ocean-bound fortress, Outer Haven. With her help, they were able to board the colossal vessel.

    In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mei Ling will provide background information to Snake pertaining to the characters of Ice Climbers, Pikachu and more during any battles fought in the Shadow Moses Island arena.
