Melissa Tiss is a young woman who lives on Highwind Island. She is a close friend with the game's protagonist Juto and takes to treating him as a little brother. Melissa tries to help Juto recover his memory and provides him with a wooden sword to fight with as Juto is unable, at least at the start of the game, to hold a real one.
When Highwind Island is attacked early in the game, Melissa is apparently killed by a man named Elgar, which acts as the motivation for Juto's leaving of the Island and beginning the adventure proper.
Melissa Tiss is voiced by Wendee Lee in the English language version of the game.
