    Overview

    Merc Elite is a 5 versus 5 player multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). As a player you can chose between five different Merc classes and take up to three of them into a match. You are playing only one class at the time, but can switch between the three classes after you have died. The game-mode in Merc Elite is so far Domination mode. Domination mode means that each team starts with a set amount of tickets and that there are various Domination points on the maps that are played. You have to capture and hold more Domination points than the enemy team which will make the enemy team lose tickets. As soon as the tickets of one team reaches zero, the match is over and the other team has won.

    The game is played in a browser (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer) with mouse and keyboard. It runs on Unity, therefore the completely free Unity plugin is needed to be able to play it.

    Controls

    Moving a unit

    To move a unit, the player just has to right-click on the desired location on the map or minimap.

    Attacking units

    To attack an enemy unit with the weapon, the player must move the cursor over the an unit he wishes to attack. The cursor will turn red and, by right-clicking, the player can then give the command to attack.

    Using Skills

    To use skills the user needs to press the according hotkey or activating the skill via left mouseclick in the UI. To then execute the skill requires another left-click whereever the player would like to apply the effect.

    If the player selects an area out of skill range, the unit should move into range and execute the skill as soon, as it comes into range.

    Using Cover

    Specific objects on the battle field can provide units with protection.

    Classes and Skills

    General

    Every Merc Class starts out with 3 base skills. Their 4th skill will be active as soon as they reach Tier 3 and the 5th skill as soon sa they Reach Tier5.

    Assault

    Weapon Skill: Grenade Launcher: Deals physical damage in a small circular area around the targeted map position. Enemies hit will receive a debuff that slows them.

    Headshot: High range single target damage skill

    Commando Roll: If the targeted map position is within the skillrange the unit will roll/move to the targeted position.

    Aggregate:

    • Active: On use the unit will get the maximum of charges. Resets Headshot cooldown.
    • Passive: The unit will gains 3 charges as soon as it stops shooting for 1.5 seconds. Whenever the unit has at least one of those charges and uses the basic attack one charge is removed and the attack deals additional energy damage.

    Overcharge: Increases attack- and movementspeed when activated. The assault doesn't have to reload as long as overcharge is active.

    Death from above: Short cast time, high amount damage in a straight line. It goes through all units and all blocking objects.

    Recon

    Weapon Skill: Piercing Salvo - short channeled cone attack. The ability will be cancelled as soon as the Recon moves or uses another ability.

    Vanish:

    • Active: dashes towards the selected position, enters a more powerful stealth for 1 second; can be detected in a 2m radius.
    • Passive: when not taking damage and using skills for 5 seconds the Recon will be in stealth automatically; when taking damage, using a skill or attacking the recon will leave the stealth; while stealthed the Recon can be seen by enemies in a 6m radius

    Throwing Knifes: maximum of 3 charges; generates charges over time. The Recon will throw one knife in the shown direction upon activation. If an enemy is hit, the enemy will be slowed by 20% (stacks up to 3 times). .Each use will consume one charge. The skill has no cooldown.

    Double Kick: Melee range, stuns the target for a short duration and knocks it back; jams the target's weapon for a short duration.

    Smoke Screen: Throws a Smoke Grenade to the target position. Friendly units get stealthed, the sightrange of enemy units is decreased and their team-sightrange can't be used.

    Katana Slash: Upon activation hits all enemies within an area around the Recon, stuns for 1 second, resets the cooldown of Vanish.

    Tactician

    Weapon Skill: Tactical Grenade - Deals physical damage in a small circular area around the targeted map position, enemies in that area will be knocked back.

    Protective Field:

    • Active: Short cooldown. Removes one charge from the Tactician and places a shield on a friendly Merc (can be cast on self). The shield absorbs the damage done to the unit within the next few seconds.
    • Passive: Generates a charge every few seconds. The Tactician can hold two charges maximum.

    Scattershot: The Tactician will shoot in the direction shown upon activation. The first enemy unit that is hit, receives damage over two seconds and will be visible the whole time.

    Sensor Tower: Places an immobile, invisible tower that has a circular shield that will make the tower visible while it lasts. The shield absorbs the damage done to the unit within the next few seconds..

    Dual Strike: The next two enemy units will be hit, receive damage over two seconds and will be visible the whole time.

    Drone Strike: Short delay until it hits, high amount of medium damage impacts in a medium circular area around the targeted map position.

    Juggernaut

    Weapon Skill: Buckshot - After a short delay all enemy units in the shown area will receive damage and will be knocked back.

    Augmented Shield:

    • Active: Immediately places a shield on the Juggernaut. The shield absorbs the next X damage done to the unit within the next Y seconds.
    • Passive: Automatically generates a shield for the Juggernaut, when the Juggernaut doesn't get damaged for 3 seconds.

    Bola Shot: The Juggernaut will shoot in the direction shown upon activation. The first enemy unit that is hit, will be rooted for a short period of time and slowed afterwards.

    EMP Grenade: Deals physical damage in a in a medium circular area around the targeted map position. Silences enemies hit for a short duration and stuns afterwards if the enemy is still in range.

    Absorb Sphere :

    Places a shield with a medium circular area at the target position. On creation all enemies within the area will be pushed to the outer line of the effect. All enemies that enter the area will get slowed as long as they stay inside the shield. All friendly units within the area will take reduced damage.

    Authority: Short delay, deals a high amount of damage in a circular area around the Juggernaut and slows the enemies hit.

    Heavy Gunner

    Weapon Skill: Focus Fire - The next three basic attacks will deal additional damage.

    Unstoppable Force:

    • Active: Reduces movement speed, reduces incoming damage, increases weaponrange by 30%..
    • Passive: Every basic attack generate a charge. The Heavy Gunner can have up to 20 charges. Every charge increases the damage of basic attacks by 6%.

    Shock RPG: Short cast time, fires a rocket in a straight line. Does a AOE damage. If an enemy is hit, the enemy will receive a short stun and will be slowed for a short duration afterwards.

    Bounding Mine: Places an invisible mine; it will detonate if an enemy is near it.

    Suppressing Fire: cone attack; the ability will be cancelled as soon as the Recon moves or uses another ability.

    Rocket Barrage: Short delay until it hits, medium damage in a huge circular area.
