Just an FYI that the Kickstarter for Mercenary Kings ends in ~12 hours, so last chance fund it if you're into this sort of thing. Tribute has already reached their goal of $75,000, so it's all about how much more content they can cram in for the initial release. They said they'd continue to work on the game after release and eventually get all the stretch goals in with money from selling the game.
Tribute made Wizorb before this, and is again having Paul Robertson do some of the art/animation for Mercenary Kings, in addition to bringing in a couple folks who worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game.
They sorta took some flack on the kickstarter comments for making some of the reward tiers unlock in-game content that only backers see, but said they can't go back and change the rewards after launching the kickstarter. They did confirm that another playable character and splitscreen multiplayer would be in it, with online multiplayer possibly coming after release. I'm a fan of contra-type games, and of Paul Robertson's art style, so I threw in a few bucks.
