I was hoping the rumors that Platinum was taking over development would be true. The seem like the right company with the right amount of crazy to make this game interesting.

Yeah, I'll admit I'm bummed out there was no MGS Rising OR MGS 5 stuff shown at all. I guess the biggest worry was that Rising was getting canned, what with the rumors of the voice actor of Raiden not even getting contacted by Konami yet. Who knows, I guess.

Either way, the HD collections are getting bought by me, and the fox engine looks cool for what little has been shown. Kojima keep on rockin.

It will definitely be at the Tokyo game show... I hope they will show some actual game play not just a sort of tech demo.

Figures, they WOULD hold back this stuff for TGS. Either the game really is that far behind in development or they figure the western audience doesn't care as much as Japan.

Kojima's next game might come out on the PC... that's all I need to know to be satisfied with Konami.

What if MGS1 gets a full blown remake with next gen graphics? OR It's already on PSN
Twin Snakes is your nearest example of a full blown (and then some) remake. But I figured that game (on the game cube of all things) would leave a sour taste in your mouth.

I thought Raiden hate died with the release of MGS4.  You know...when he transformed from whiny bitch to cyborg badass.

Anyway, I am really disappointed in the lack of Rising at E3.  That game looked awesome from jump street.  That doesn't happen very often.

Does this news surprise anyone at all? Wouldn't shock me if there was a late announcement, though.

Besides, with the wealth of HD back-catalogue titles coming, they'll have sated the majority of appetites for Capcom games and quelled the fires a little.

I'm just glad to see that Kojima has his own engine now. This'll mean more, beautiful games from Kojima-san.

I was hoping it would come out this year but I'll just buy the HD Collection and play Peace Walker.

I don't care all that much but I do sort of want to see if the game is about anything more than slicing things.

    and his shitbaggy shitbagness,

And with that line, perhaps Patrick should write all the news stories from now on.

I guess the HD MGS collection is appeasement enough for no new Rising footage.  Fine...I'll accept your blood offering Konami.  This time.

I'm not altogether surprised.  Honestly, I don't think it's coincidence that they make this announcement and talk about the Fox Engine at the same time.  My guess is the need for the Fox Engine arose out of work on Rising when they found it took much, much longer to complete the game for multiple platforms.  They are probably pushing back Rising's release date to give adequate time to finish it.  I imagine they're having to finish Rising "the old fashioned way," and then any future projects they can finish in a more timely manner with the Fox Engine.  I applaud Kojima's foresight.

I just have to go on record:  Raiden's personality and presentation was annoying in MGS2 but he's not nearly as some people make him out to be.  Even if true he's an absolute badass by MGS4.

I always wondered if a good part of the blame could be chalked up to the voice acting for Raiden.  I base that partially upon not really hearing a ton of complaints about this character from non-english speaking sectors of the market but maybe I just missed it at the time.

Kind of disappointing that nothing MGS related will be at E3 but TGS should at least be the place for it. Really want to know what his next project is if that Fox engine is any indication.

    Me too!
There is nothing official yet, right?
I know they have two teams and one is working on Anarchy Reigns which I really don't care for.
