This was on the screen at the end of Kojima's Keynote
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Game » consists of 21 releases. Released Jun 12, 2008
In 2014, war has become so routine that it is at the core of the global economy. A rapidly aging Solid Snake picks up his gun and embarks upon his final mission in this epic tale of tactical espionage action -- the conclusion to the Solid Snake saga.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Raiden
Raiden was a great character in MGS2 imo,yes his personality was annoying but thats what made him different.
I had guessed this, when I was playing MGS4 for the first time and Raiden came on the Codec, all mysterious like.
Hmmm more action oriented? since mgs4 really was just action any ways i dont see how it can get any more that way. as for that Didn't Kojima say 4 was the last one? or atleast his last one? Then again he said that for 3 i believe as well.
From kojima's keynote, it seems likely that the next metal gear will be more open world and non-linear, which MGS4 had small elements of with the larger environments.
As for the raiden starring in it...
*MGS4 spoilers*
Didn't raiden only turn cyborg-ish after he rescued sunny? I think he got injured or something, and that's when he got saved by EVA who took him to see that eastern european doctor, and only then did he become all crazy with the artificial blood.
At the end he wasn't wearing the suit but he was still the same, so he could potentially wear it again and be a badass, though i don't see him leaving because of his family and it all wraps up pretty nicely at the end.
It's wierd because i can't see a meaningful enough story set between 2 and 4 if that's what happens, but i can't see a game without the familiar characters. I'm sure kojima will do it justice either way.
"Well technically Raiden was still a cyborg at the end of MGS4. He just has more human like parts if I'm not mistaken.lol yeah i know, lets all be thankful we don't have to play as his little kid!
Kojima always feels like his next game will be his last and epic conclusion, but in the end he always learns something more and puuts that to use on his next game. It's definitely a good thing, because he always puts his heart into the next game. I'm not a huge fan of the Raiden- idea, and I thought his speech was pretty horrible and short- sighted, but I'm a big fan of the series and am excited to see how things go.
Kind of upsets me to be honest. I'm a huge fan of MGS, but I really don't want Kojima shoehorning in or retconning any more fiction. 4 was great, but I feel like I don't need a new game that has anything to do with these characters. Regardless, I'm sure I'll play it either way.
