Hey, I was wondering if it is worth getting a PS3 for this, mind you I probly would be getting Resistance, and Uncharted aswell, plus using it for online, but mainly MGS4, worth it? thanks.

Worth Getting a PS3 for this?
hmm I see, well I'm not sure about getting the special PS3, just buying seprate, I already have a 360, but I dont know, MGS4 seems too awesome to pass up lol.
I suggest you get the bundled version if your worried and then get another game with the purchase
The PS3 is worth it trust me, I have a 360 and a PS3 and the PS3 has a really good exclusives, free online (I hate paying for xbox live) and if you got the right TV you can use it as an awesome blu ray player
EXACTLY!!! I dont want to pay for XBL so that is deffinatly one of the main reasons for getting one.
Yeah, its worth it just for this game alone, but there are plenty of other great games to buy for the PS3... you should also check out uncharted.
Ya its very worth it but like everyone has said there are other games to justify the purchase. Also, the blue-ray player doesnt hurt.
No system is ever worth getting one game for. That said there's lots of other good things about than PS3 than just MGS4. Blu-Ray, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, actual system customizeability similar to a PC and not that gimmicky fake face plate crap that the 360 has, FREE online, I could go on. Only downside is PS3 is wicked expensive, but if you got the cash and like the other things the system has to offer as well then get one. :)
I was just in the same boat as you man. I have to say it was a very difficult decision but now that I have one I'm glad I picked it up. If you jump on it quick you can probably still find a new one that still has the backwards compatibility (if that's something you care about) since I think they're getting rid of it. Also like a lot of people said before MGS4 isn't a good reason alone. Plus there's a few really cool games coming out this year like Little Big Planet and Resistance 2.
The one big personal gripe I have is I don't like the controller as much as the 360's. I think it's something about the triggers and the thumb-sticks. It works good for me on PS3 exclusive games but for the cross platform stuff I think I'll have to stick with getting the 360 version for now.
I think its worth it , I bought my ps3 because im a huge MGS fan and MGS4 wraps up the series nicely and if youve played the previous games the you will definately appreciate the touches that they put in. But im also glad i bought my ps3 for its other great games( Uncharted , SCIV , LBP( coming soon but looks great) ) . hope this helps!
"I did. I must say, though, there are plenty of other reasons to justify the purchase. Uncharted, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank... Not to mention, it's the cheapest blu-ray player on the market.Yeah, there are really a lot of other games out there for it, and I even buy Multi-platforms for the console as well like GTA cause well the Xbox360 is kinda crap since I have had 3 red-ring on my already since launch... :|
"
And the PS3, well not a problem since launch actually, not even that random game freeze up or anything that always happens on any console.
If you're primarily buying a PS3 just for this game then I'd say yes if you're a fan of the series and have played the last 3, but no if you're just a casual gamer who's just decided to pick this up. Reason being is because this game is renown heavily for it's story and it's complexity at this stage without any background of the past 3 games would leave you without a clue on what's going on. Having said that, the gamplay and graphics are terrfic for everyone. You could just skip the story but that would be taking the meaning out of MGS.
If however you're also interested in other games of the PS3 then I'd definitely recommend you buy one, especially for the games you mentioned.
"Hey, I was wondering if it is worth getting a PS3 for this, mind you I probly would be getting Resistance, and Uncharted aswell, plus using it for online, but mainly MGS4, worth it? thanks."If you have to ask, then probably yes.
I fell out of love with MGS toward the end of MGS2, so I was able to resist and just download some movies to slake my curiosity.
But if you find yourself thinking something other than "forget it," and you have the money, and you say you wanted other PS3 exclusives as well (I didn't, particularly), then you should probably buy one. It comes with a free Blu-Ray player!
I was personally disappointed with the game...and this is coming from a huge MG fan. I found the first two Acts to be fantastic, but after that the game just went completely downhill for me. I think the PS3 is still worth getting though, and especially if you want to have some kind of BC at all.
I bought a PS3 and MGS4 was the first game I bought and played for it, never played a MGS game before and yeah... it was sooooooooo worth it!
I got a 360 just for Dead Rising, but i would never get a PS3 just for one game... just too many great games on PS3 to just buy one.
