I read the japanese version will also include MGS1, but it seems to be the same version as the one currently on PSOne Classics. I would very much like that nonetheless.

The MGS2 will be the Substance version I believe too, which has a bunch of VR missions and a skateboarding mini game.

Peacewalker instead of MGS1 seems like more than a fair trade to me.

This pleases me greatly! Don't need another copy of MGS1 and I've never played MG or MG2 before.

I'm still irritated over it being called a collection while omitting the best game in the series....

I'm so excited for this, I've never owned a sony console but I remember playing through these with my friend and those were definitely some of my best gaming memories.

They should include Metal Gear Acid (Ac!d?) as freebies. I would never deliberately buy them so...

It's nagging at me that another MGS collection will be released. Maybe something for the 25th anniversary next year including the rest of the PSP games and a few extra bits and bobs. Doesn't seem like an MGS4 Subsistance  is on the cards. But making all the games bar 4 playable on the Vita with transfarring would be a good selling point. 

that is going to be sweet. i can't wait for the collection. i never played 1 or 2, i only played 3 and a little bit of 4. i need to play 4 in my pile of shame.

@Ygg: You can just download MGS1 on the Playstation Store for $5. Making a total investment of $45, ($40 HD Collection, and a $5 MGS1 game.)

Having played MG2 I cant wait till everyone finishes it and realises MGS for the PS1 was nothing but a carbon copy of that game but in 3D.

i think they are keeping MGS1 off so they can reboot the entire franchise. Again.

I used to send an e-mail to Kojima Productions every month for about two years begging for HD editions. Seems like it worked.

So any word on this having update controls? Or the hand-to-hand combat?

I'm now strangely excited for the re-release, but mainly for the trophies.
