New MGS HD Collection details! Get hype!
It's nagging at me that another MGS collection will be released. Maybe something for the 25th anniversary next year including the rest of the PSP games and a few extra bits and bobs. Doesn't seem like an MGS4 Subsistance is on the cards. But making all the games bar 4 playable on the Vita with transfarring would be a good selling point.
As far as Kojima's Twitter feed states, the Japanese version will have a download code for the PSN version of MGS1.I read the japanese version will also include MGS1, but it seems to be the same version as the one currently on PSOne Classics. I would very much like that nonetheless.
@Ygg said:Sorry to butt in but it looks like you made an almost grevious mistake in misspelling MGS2: Substance! Oh, how close was that to disaster!I'm still irritated over it being called a collection while omitting the best game in the series....Oh didn't you hear? Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance is in here so no worries! I'll forgive you this one time for making such a mistake.
That's not really the point is it? I could just play my copies of MGS2 and 3 on an emulator on my PC at 1920x1080 which is probably a higher resolution than these HD "remakes" will run at. I actually don't see much point in these HD collections if you have a half decent PC to use emulation from, in this case it seems all they're doing is adding achievements, trophies and turning the resolution up. I'd have paid if they released The Twin Snakes as that's actually hard to find. (well, for a reasonable price at least)@Ygg: You can just download MGS1 on the Playstation Store for $5. Making a total investment of $45, ($40 HD Collection, and a $5 MGS1 game.)
I'd much rather have seen MGS1 get some love, they should have got licensing to re-release The Twin Snakes at the very least.
Edit: Also the PSN release of MGS1 looks terrible even when upscaled on a PS3, my original PS1 release of MGS1 also looks truly awful. Looks 10x better when ran through an emulator on PC.

Good game but the camo system was awful and made me question how blind the AI must be. It being brought back in MGS4 annoyed me greatly too. Hurray for enemies with cataracts.
That would be fucking sweet if it did.So Substance is confirmed? Any news on whether it will also have the 3D camera?
I used to send an e-mail to Kojima Productions every month for about two years begging for HD editions. Seems like it worked.
