Still amazing after all this time

    Pros:

-Three great classics that look and play great in HD

-Just as epic as you remember

    -Several hours of gameplay

-Great and in-depth storyline full of social and political themes

    -Great stealth gameplay

    Cons:

    -Some dated gameplay elements

Metal Gear Solid was (and still is) a revolutionary set of games that changed the industry forever, they created not only the stealth genre but also influenced many other aspects of video game design, from deep cinematic storytelling to epic boss battles to tackling social, political, and moral themes, and more. And while some parts of MGS have not aged well, the overall quality is still strong and provides an experience that you will love to re-experience again and again, and what better way to do that then in HD?

MGS HD comes with 3 games, all of which have been remastered in HD and run at a very high and smooth frame rate. You have Snake Eater (the Subsistance version), Sons of Liberty (the Substance version), and an HD port of the PSP title Peace Walker. All of these games are just as great and epic as you remember, sneaking through the tanker in Sons of Liberty, surviving in the wild as Big Boss in Snake Eater, creeping through enemy camps in Peace Walker....all of these moments are relived through this collection. The same great storytelling, the same great boss battles, the same great intense stealth gameplay are all perfectly remastered, and for the most part it plays great.

However some aspects of the gameplay have not aged well, aiming and shooting feels a bit clunky, so will other aspects like some camera angles. These may not be that bad for veterans of the series, but for new comers they might find these aspects a bit confusing. Thankfully these issues are forgivable as the overall package is so great. Another good aspect of this MGS HD is the insane amount of content you are getting, 3 good length games with the edition of the substance and subsistence versions, gives them even more content. You definitely get your money's worth with this collection.

    Final Verdict:

Whether you are a veteran of the series or a new comer, you owe it to yourself to grab this collection.

    Metal Gear Solid HD get's a 4/5

Yes, three of the best games of all time on one disk. 0

Yes, three of the best games of all time on one disk. You kind of *need* to pick this up.And that comes off as shameless promotion or fanboyism. It isn't. The Metal Gear games are the only reason I still play videogames these days. Gone are the days where I enjoyed exploring dungeons in Zelda or grinding my way up skill trees in Japanese RPG's. Life has caught up to me. I simply don't have the time, and just don't enjoy them like I used to.But the Metal Gear games are the exception here. No othe...
