Q: "YOU DIRTY PIRATE PIECE OF SHIT"
A: "Actually, no. This was a legitimate early copy. Remember when people got MW2 early? Kinda like that. I know you don't believe me, I don't care.
As a huge Metal Gear fan I finished this rather quickly because I played this way too much so here I am. Does anyone want to know anything from an average joe who hasn't even been paid off or anything?

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is the latest portable entry in the Metal Gear franchise, and the second canonical Metal Gear title produced for the PSP. Set in Costa Rica, Peace Walker puts you in control of Big Boss once again as he prepares the rise of Outer Heaven.
I finished the game, ask me anything.
How was the advertising nonsense? Controls? UI interface? And generally, was it a good story, even if it didn't progress the story, but rather just filled the gaps?
" Who is that guy who looks like Otacon? "SPOILERS
" @The_Laughing_Man said:Thank you very much." Who is that guy who looks like Otacon? "SPOILERS"Much like Otacon, he is a scientist who does bad things and then joins you to help you stop the bad things. After the credits a line is dropped about him becoming a father and naming his son "Hal"
" How was the advertising nonsense? Controls? UI interface? And generally, was it a good story, even if it didn't progress the story, but rather just filled the gaps? "Advertising - I'm not sure if they removed it at the last moment or I just missed it. I used a packet of chips and even body spray, but they weren't Doritos or Axe branded.
Controls - They give you a few different options to handle it. I didn't have any problem with them at all, but when a boss was especially mobile it was kind of tough to keep the camera where you want it.
UI interface - No problems with it at all
Story: Without spoiling, it was a very good story, but I'm not sure that everyone is going to be a fan of a bit that happened at the end. It was a little too ridiculous even by Kojima standards.
" Can we expect to see ducks on the moon as early as 2015? "Dude, Soviets put ducks on the moon in '09. Check your almanac.
wut... no. That's impossible. It was a little too ridiculous even by Kojima standards. "
" @SPACETURTLE said:Well, them ducks ain't living on the moon NOW, right? I'm talking living, walking and talking ducks ON THE MOON!" Can we expect to see ducks on the moon as early as 2015? "Dude, Soviets put ducks on the moon in '09. Check your almanac. "
" How long did it take you to beat? "My current time is 18 hours and 33 minutes. I had the PSP on without me in the room for about an hour and a half or so.
I also did a lot of side missions (Yes, this has those) which took up alot of time, because they aren't forced on you. I had trouble with the final boss fight as well which took me quite a few tries.
There's a LIFE meter and a PSYCHE meter. Food and rations give you back your LIFE, when things like tea and body spray give PSYCHE.
Until the end of the game I didn't pay attention to the psyche meter at all. Literally. Didn't even notice it was there.
The final boss' attacks managed to deplete it, which knocked Snake out, leaving you to wiggle the analog stick to get him back up.
The music is great throughout, but nothing really special for the most part. There are a few instances where some great themes play during the right times though. For example when
@SJSchmidt93:
Gameplay:Cutscene ratio
Completely inoffensive. I'm not sure of a number, but this one was much more gameplay than cutscene. None of them really stretched out too much.
What would I rate it? That depends. You can't really compare my rating to this and to MGS4, because by PSP standards, Peace Walker is absolutely amazing. I'd give them both 5 stars on Giant Bomb though.
" @Ventilaator said:It wasn't even a huge plot twist or anything, it was just a solution to a problem, which was really really weird.wut... no. That's impossible. "It was a little too ridiculous even by Kojima standards. "
Hows the ambulance box?
or, well, better question, hows the co-op in general, if you've spent any time with it yet.
I thought of another one.
I've played MGS 1, 2, and 4. Not 3 or portable ops. I hated 3, never actually played PO. Any chance I'll understand this cause I understand that the chronology is PO, 3, PW, 1, 2, 4.
It really didn't feel like this game really filled out that many holes. It just feels like another Metal Gear story that happened. The main thing here that has any influence on the overall story is that you are setting up Outer Heaven throughout the game, and the ending leaves Big Boss even more pissed off at America." @Ventilaator: In your humble opinion, is it worth me playing through it? Are there plot points that change everything, etc. ... what happens? "

A character from 3 gets a lot of...let's call it screen time...so if you played 3 but didn't like it, you will still understand who he/she/it is. " Some of the early reviews I'm reading state that this game is impossible to beat on your own, that you need co-op. I'm not a huge co-op fan, and like to take on games by myself. Is the game, in fact, impossible to beat on your own? "I did it, so I can say for sure that it wasn't.
I can totally see where they're coming from though, because my one gripe with the game is that the bosses have way too much HP on them.

Why would you play something on the psp? "Why would you get a tattoo of Optimus Prime on your shoulder? These are the questions.... "

I read a review (really wish I could remember the source) that stated that it would be immensely difficult to finish this game without the help of a friend. Is that true? Is this game really that heavily-geared towards co-op?
The bosses have waaaaaaaay too much HP, which kind of encourages you to use the help of a friend, but I finished it all alone and only struggled at the final boss fight.
wtf is happening in this clip? Pls tell me - ITS CREEPY?

More on the music, have you heard any BGM track that topped Return of Fox Hounder? or its awesome remix? I'm dying to know!
With out giving too much away if you can, but how much does Peace Walker tie into the end of Portable Ops. I mean didn't Naked Snake (Big Boss) start up FOX HOUND at the end?
