Peace Walker takes place after the events of Snake Eater and the Portable Ops games which follow the origins of Big Boss, the organization Foxhound and many prominent characters featured throughout the Metal Gear canon. Peace Walker sheds light on the birth of Outer Heaven, an "army without a country" that acts as a war deterrent in countries that are unable to legally keep a standing army. Lead by the now legendary Big Boss, Outer Heaven begins working with a pair of mysterious pupils of pea...
Warning: This Review Contains Spoilers from MGS3. The Spoiler is marked with underlining and bold. Ever since the PSP launched big budgets, AAA games that we were used to seeing and playing on our home consoles have been trying to make their way onto Sony's portable system. Games such as God of War: Chains of Olympus, Gra...
I need to start by saying that I'm biased. I'm a hardcore Metal Gear fan past the point of mere obsession. I literally fantasize about being Big Boss. I listen to the MGS series soundtrack on my iPod and see myself, as Snake, doing ridiculous things. I walk around doing a bad impression of Snake's voice all the time. I could go on for a while about how into this franchise I am but that wouldn't exactly be reviewing the game. So now that that's out of the way I'd like to say that Metal Gear So...
For a while before it's release, I was very stoked for this game. Even though a ton of other people were going so far as to buy the the Japanese version of this game (Or pirate it) just to get their hands on it, I waited until June to enjoy the title. Hideo never cuts content from his games on the American releases, after all. This game has been met with a lot of joy, praise, and overall strong love, but it is in my sincerest opinion that most of it is unfounded and just bandwagon jumping...
When Hideo Kojima said Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker was going to be a full blown MGS experience on the PSP, I'm sure more than a few people figured it was a little PR spin at work. But let's make this clear now, Kojima has not only done exactly what he said he would, but also delivered one of the best PSP titles to date. Using MGS Portable Ops as the framework, Peace Walker builds on it's PSP predecessor with more options and refinements taken from it's console brethren. A refined CQC system a...
If you're a fan of Metal Gear Solid than you probably already have this game. If you don't then the only thing I can think to ask is 'Why the fuck not?!?' This game has so much you can do from building Outer Heaven to recruiting soldiers, training them, building your own Metal Gear, sending your men out to do side missions and oh, duh, the campaign is amazing as well!!! I'm not going to go into great detail about this game, if you're reading this you've probably already done your research or o...
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker continues the saga of Big Boss, expands on the back story of the Metal Gear universe and brings new, mostly enjoyable game mechanics to the series. It very nearly topples Snake Eater as my favorite game in the franchise.Story Peace Walker begins when Snake and his growing army of mercenaries are recruited by an unlikely pair: a KGB agent (excellently voiced by Steve Blum) named Galvez and a "student of peace" named Paz. He initially refuses their offer, but is f...
When first playing I thought, Wow! What a great game. The graphics are simply outstanding for the PSP, the cut-scenes are stylistic and quite gorgeous, and you can even change you control type to the way you wanna experience it. Unfortunately, even though you can do this, the controls still bog it all down. The PSP simply isn't the funnest first person console out there. More often than not I found myself battling the camera more than battling the enemies, and I simply had to stop playing it. So...
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walkers story is set after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3.Snake is contacted by (???) and asked to go on one last mission, Snake refuses, only to take it on after hearing a tape recording of what sounds like his former mentor boss. The game is a mix of modern action adventure and tactical role play. Before each mission you have the option to equip yourself before you take on a mission. You have the option to play 4 player over ad-hoc on the PS3 or 6 player local. Some la...
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is to Guns of the Patriots as Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops was to Snake Eater; it takes the previous game’s fundamental gameplay features and packs it into a handheld game with some added RPG flare. The result is spectacular because it plays in the same fantastically designed manner while giving you enough varying features to keep you occupied for a very lengthy 20-40 hour time. Did I mention this game is on the PSP?And that’s the zinger: this is one of the very ...
The Metal Gear series has always been a personal favorite of mine since Metal Gear Solid. Since I first played that game I have absorbed everything Metal Gear that I could. With that being said, with the announcment of Peace Walker as being the "last" of the Kojima Metal Gear games I was all in. Peace Walker is a Prequel to Metal Gear Solid but a sequel to Snake Eater and Portable Ops. Which makes it a prethreequel? . . . Peace Walker has you again playing as a young Big Boss after the days of ...
Metal Gear Solid is a Franchise hasn't changed much since it's initial release on NES. Of course besides the obvious graphics and 3d perspective. But the weapons and the crazy war story and the over dramatic soldier fighting to do what is right and to complete his mission hasn't changed yet. Though some things have been added Metal Gear Peace Walker is by far one of the better Metal Gear games Only Matched by MGS4 which is a ps3 game compared to a PSP game. The game plays on hand-held fever wi...
