'fuck is going on ?
Yay. Alright, let's witness the shenanigans.
'fuck is going on ?
oh my god this whole thing is so wonderfully ridiculous
'fuck is going on ?
Hahahaha the ending is so great.
Some people even believe that this guy was CG rendered in the new Fox Engine XD
Joakim is 100% CGI in that interview. This is an elaborate tech demo for the Fox Engine.
- It explains why the two are never in the same frame together
- It explains the bandages
- It explains why the game being on the Fox Engine was the big reveal.
If you look at his cheek during the interview, the shading seems suspicious. And the closer you look at it, I have a hard time believing he is actually there.
this s a face rendered with this new Engine^^
also dont forget this^^
Tjis was rendered on a PS3 now imagine what they could do with a PS4 XD

Yeah I realy don't know what to think of all that. Fact is that Kojima will hold a 90 minute!! live presentation at GDC. If this is not something really really groundbreaking why does he need 90 whole minutes that will even be livestreamed on the internet^^

Jesus fucking christ, what the flying fuck is going on?
How can @brad and @patrickklepek ask for less crazy from Kojima? HOW?!
If that really is CG, my mind just got blown in every conceivable direction. Also, FOX engine confirmed, which means there's no way this isn't a Kojima joint. And if Cliffy B is involved, I will crap my pants in delight.
This also could be the case^^
None or less his is sooo fucking great and I can not wait till GDC.
I love this so much. Games promotion often seems like it's just focus-tested and keyword-laden bluster, but this is simply silly and fun. Who could imagine the promotion of a videogame being -fun-?
This is both less than I hoped for and more than I hoped for. I hope they keep having a good time with it and just take stupid risks to build up hype.

heh. After finally getting a look at HD video of the interview, I can say with 99.99% certainty that it was not CG. There are certain details involving the eyes and the lighting which simply isn't possible yet. So, while I agree that the FOX Engine is very impressive(especially for single, unmoving shots), there is no way that the FOX Engine was involved in that interview.
Now, that doesn't mean there weren't some shenanigans in it. I think there's a good chance that Keighley never met him at all, and they just did the interview in cuts. But I suppose we'll see, as Internet sleuths will be hard at work in the coming days to see if there are any more hints in the video(I imagine there will be).
@truthtellah: I agree that this interwiew is probably not CG. Some of the details would be too insane for an actual engine to render. Still, I'm intrigued.
I'm loving all this. Only Kojima would do something like this.
Fuck the haters, in 50 years when we look back on the influential figures that have pushed and evolved the medium into an art form, you can beat your ass that Kojima is going to be in the top five. Hell, MGS2 propels him up there alone. I can't believe Brad and Patrick were whining about Kojima being too crazy as if it was a bad thing. Guy has done so many incredible, meta concepts and themes with his games throughout the past two gens that other developers haven't even attempted to replicate, and it commands respect in regards to how ballsy he is to mix things up every time. This Phantom Pain shit is too good. Look around the internet, nothing else has been remotely as exciting in recent memory as the hype around this thing and the mystery behind it, and only someone like Kojima would actually be ballsy and crazy enough to pull something like this. Why you'd want him to tone it down is absolutely beyond me. It's refreshing to see something like this among all the rehashes, sequels, and FPS shooters of late.

I'm curious what details you are referring to that wouldn't be possible. I am genuinely curious about this kind of stuff.
Amazing interview, that ending! :D Kojima is doing a GDC talk isn't he? Guess we might hear something for certain.
Seriously though, I don't see Cliffy B in that dude.
Man, this is shit is so out there...and just batshit crazy....that it's endearing. They are going for it, with this just weird and absurd pitch. It's fun to see unfold.
And confusing. And slightly scary.
There's no way that is CG. Even Avatar with it's super huge budget can't reproduce such a realistic person, so I certainly doubt a game engine designed to run on consumer hardware will.
And why would the bandages support this theory if they can render such a nice face anyway? It's probably because they are hiding a recognisable person under there like... Cliffy B.

It will be a 90 minute Fox Engine presentation which also will be live streamed^^
Joakim is Dracula backwards.
Yes!
Cliff Blezinski confirmed. Phantom Pain=Metal Gears of War
This can't be confirmed without a complete translation of the article. That same picture comparing Cliff to Joakim is in this thread and it's purely speculation at this point.
@artemesia: I was focusing more on the fact that Kojima posted a photo of himself looking at the article speculating about Cliffy B. Truthfully, I'm sure Kojima just posted it to screw with us, and I don't think Mogren is Cliff, but what's the fun in that?
I say let all the Kojima-esque crazy conspiracy theories fly!
Kojima has been an AI the whole time. Everything we remember about the Metal Gear series is being generated, in real time, by nuclear-equipped computers.
With ID locked weapons, and emotion controls via SOP.
JD is real. And the D stands for Dracula.
I was going somewhere with this, but I lost track of what crazy path it should take.

How do you know that the life you're living is not generated by quantum computers?
