This is almost certainly MGS5

Hmmm......i think i would be more excited for a card game based on the MGS universe since Ground Zeroes is already a thing. Man the things i would do for another Acid game...perhaps even buy a Vita
Doesn't the card game already exist? Wasn't that announced for Japan a while ago?
I've never played Metal Gear Ac!d, but isn't that what it was?
Also yes there is some sort of card game they are making.
Moby Dick Studios is a fake studio guys. The founder's name is an anagram for Kojima, and the last name has OGRE, as in Project Ogre. You can clearly see Volgin, Psycho Mantis/the Sorrow, and the Boss' horse in the trailer, and the soldiers have the same gear as the ones in Ground Zeroes. Not to mention the fact that...come on, that character is so clearly Big Boss it's not even funny. I mean, Metal Gear Solid V is in the freaking title! It fits in the lines and spaces in the title screen. My theory is that Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain are both MGS5, but when Kojima said Ground Zeroes was the prologue to MGS5, he actually meant it was the prologue LEVEL, like the tanker in MGS2 or the Virtuous Mission in MGS3.

BEEG BAWS!?
:( kind of wanted this to be a game about liquid snake. Oh well, Big Boss it is again I guess. :'(
@xMEGADETHxSLY: It clearly says MGSV, but the metal gear series doesn't use roman numerals! You can't just switch now.
Just watched the trailer again and noticed that Snake has both his arms at the end. Then Pyscho Mantis is standing over him. We can ssume most of the trailer is a dream until that point
Well looks like any questions for what this game could be will have to wait for next E3 for some to be answered. I for one would be really intrigued if this has anything to do with the MGS universe.

It is kind of baffling they haven't done more spinoffs about the missions that Solid and Liquid did earlier in their careers, but I guess KojiPro figures they're already doing enough games in historical time periods by doing MGS3, Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes, etc.
Though seriously, Big Boss is cool and all, but I'd love to see a weird spinoff about Liquid's earlier life or something. Though I guess it would be a stretch to include Metal Gears in any way, though they've certainly found ways for it to happen with Big Boss.
Don't if anyone has spotted this yet but just after the man appearing to be Volgin is on screen, there's a black screen with the words "open your eyes" followed by a soldier on fire stumbling around.
Looks a tad like Raiden to me with the hair
Or am I reading way too much into this?

I hope that IS Raiden and that it's NOT a dream and that he IS burning!
Over at neogaf they try to decipher the logo of "moby dick studios". They think it's a map of norway...well, i found this yesterday.
If you look at the fin http://doope.jp/media/12q4/img6659_03.jpg . It looks almost exactly as the logo on his shoulder http://doope.jp/media/12q4/img6659_05.jpg , just turned 90degrees.
Perhaps someone can just copy my post to neogaf? Got no acc.
But she really is giving the giraffe a blowjob!@kistjan said:
@rebgav: Well, just skip the "Over at neogaf they try to decipher the logo of "moby dick studios". They think it's a map of norway...well, i found this yesterday." and "Perhaps someone can just copy my post to neogaf? Got no acc." parts
Go read all of the thread on gaf and you'll see the same theory posted on the first night. You may have discovered it yesterday but you were beaten to the punch by someone else, sorry. I think it was dismissed outright as the two shapes really don't match up very well.
Then again, it's probably a fake. Who knows these days.

I honestly don't understand how anybody could think this is related to Metal Gear in any way. It's a totally separate developer in an unrelated country, coming out with a new IP seemingly involving PTSD syndrome, and the first thing everyone tries to do is to see how it fits into Kojima's canon? It feels a bit as if people were trying to shoehorn the story of Spec Ops: The Line into the new Call of Duty. I might be the odd one out, but colour me flabbergasted.
Ever thought they would remake the original metal gear msx games? MG2 is very important, and leads straight into MGS

I don't know if you're just trolling or have never played a MGS game before. You honestly think that a developer that no one has ever heard of before can come out of nowhere and create a AAA game? A developer that has one employee whose first name is an anagram for Kojima. Not to mention that the trailer has a reference to MGS in every single scene. Yeah people are really just grasping at anything these days. Was the Metal Gear Solid 5 in the negative space at the end of the trailer just some random coincidence?

It's impossible to read too much into this trailer. It's like the whole reason it exists.

It takes place after MGS4, a team managed to clone Solid Snake and well this was the end result.
Cloning a clone?
So, I am sure by now we have all seen the .gif with the title switching in and out of "Metal Gear Solid V" and "Phantom Pain". My theory, is that the game is Metal Gear Solid Vita, and is some kind of Inception dream bullshit side story for the Vita. The way I see it, whatever Kojima does, it will work, but just not the way we are expecting it to.

There is no way the graphics were for Vita. No way.
In addition, the title would have to be bizarrely offset to have "Vita" vs just "V".
@Sarge506 said:
I realise it could be misdirection but isn't one of the very few things we know for sure is it's for Xbox 360 & PS3?
Yes, it should be. I keep seeing people say this Vita thing though.
@darkvare said:
@ArtisanBreads: it's for ps3 and 360 why do i make this outrageous claims? well moby dick studios is fake which means the site is obviously a place holder site for when they change it to mgs site and it has ps3 and 360 logos in its footer
... Huh? I am saying it's for 360 and PS3. All of this is just MGS V. Either this or Ground Zero is the prologue mission ala MGS 2's tanker mission IMO.
this guy did a good job and didnt copy & paste all the NEOGAF stuff straight into the article (interesting points #11, 14, 15, 20 SALADINNNNN!)
ps. i also think it's MGS V (not '5'), where the game is episodic with different playable characters (think RE 6 but better).

As other people have said, if this is what a Vita game can look like then every other Vita developer needs to be fired.
From a cannon.
Into the sun.
For real.
You aren't getting graphics that seem like they aren't even possible on PS3 Xbox 360 on Vita. Sorry guys.
