There are music cassettes you can pick up that allow you to play different songs when your helicopter shows up to extract you or provide air support. There are various Metal Gear songs, and some other neat ones from other Konami games. They even have Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries as a selectable song.

That's all fine and dandy, but what you may not have known is that you can import music saved on your console to use for your helicopter. On the main menu, go to cassette tapes, and then import music. I did this on PS3, but I assume you can do this for all versions as long as you have music on the console (I copied from a USB drive)

This is great, because I didn't think this would make it into Ground Zeroes. And I have been using this for some dumb great moments.

Here's my list of music, what music do you plan on using?

Well I don't have the game yet, but obviously Fortunate Son.

Despite this being released, I still haven't spotted anything about how or if music importing works on PS4. Support through Music Unlimited only or so would be a real bummer, especially after already having used my 30-day trial...

Well, if I could do custom music on the PS4, I'd probably do some Jurassic Park music. But I can't, so I just stick with Ride of the Valkyries.

Wasn't aware you could do this, probably not even an option on PS4 sadly. However, judging by the spoilers I've willingly come across regarding Chico, I probably would queue up Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" for the helicopter just to be a dick, assuming Big Boss is already basically a bad guy at this point in the story.

So there's no option on PS4 to play your own music, not even through Music Unlimited? Bit of a bummer with the otherwise best version of the bunch.

I would have imported Ride of the Valkyries like I did for Steel Battalion back on the first Xbox...but Konami saved me the trouble.

I am frankly disappointed that it wasn't in there to begin with. Like 'Flight if the Valkyries' yes that's great, but come on Kojima! You make a game set in the 70's, and features helicopter as a core game mechanic, really? As much of a movie buff he is I would think that he would have either had that or some CCRish tracks (some Foghat maybe?). I would say that CCR should be in the next game but, it's Unfortunate (son) that since The Phantom Pain is set in the 80's it would seam a tad outdated.

I'm going with Italian films because Ennio Moricone was in this game.

This is what I'm currently using however I also feel that the MacGyver theme would also be an interesting choice. American Woman is definitely a good choice, just hilarious hearing it boom over the battlefield as everyone shoots at the chopper.
