There are music cassettes you can pick up that allow you to play different songs when your helicopter shows up to extract you or provide air support. There are various Metal Gear songs, and some other neat ones from other Konami games. They even have Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries as a selectable song.
That's all fine and dandy, but what you may not have known is that you can import music saved on your console to use for your helicopter. On the main menu, go to cassette tapes, and then import music. I did this on PS3, but I assume you can do this for all versions as long as you have music on the console (I copied from a USB drive)
This is great, because I didn't think this would make it into Ground Zeroes. And I have been using this for some dumb great moments.
Here's my list of music, what music do you plan on using?
- "Highwind Takes to the Skies" from Final Fantasy VII
- "Rules of Nature (Platinum Mix)" from Metal Gear Rising
- "Snake Eater" from Metal Gear Solid 3
- "Extraction Point" from Modern Warfare 2
- "Power" by Kanye West
- "Why Can't We Be Friends" by War
- "War" by Edwin Starr
