Let your horribly written series die Kojima. Work on something different, and actually make it have gameplay that isn't interrupted with every 10 steps.
Thank god Kojima doesn't listen to people like you.
I don't give a shit what Kojima does, I've loved every single MGS game... So all I have to say is, YAY!
MGS is the only series I know that has all sorts of crazy crap always put into it thats absolutely extra and goofy. Love to play another next gen MGS title - that said I really love Snake as a character so it would be too bad to play an MGS game without him. Certainly nano machines can clone him somehow? Nanomachines, nanomachines, nanomachines..
Exactly. The most Snake should do post-4 is maybe be a codec contact. You call Snake for battlefield advice, or how he would exfiltrate a base.@Brodehouse said:
There's room in the Metal Gear fiction for stories, even more Snake stories... but not past MGS4 in the timeline. Show Young Snake before the Outer Heaven incident in Metal Gear, or show him between Zanzibarland and Shadow Moses. If you have to set it after MGS4, for the love of fuck, retire Snake as the playable character. I think we'd all feel better if we could watch Snake die in peace. MGS5, you play as Raiden, and you're forced to kill Snake to prevent nuclear war. Here lies a patriot who saved the world.Didn't Snake effectively die at the end of 4? I know it wasn't explicitly shown, but it was a pretty large thematic point...
If they brought him back again, then a lot of what makes 4 great is lost.
Wasn't too impressed with MSG4 (I felt like I spent more time watching that game than playing it) but I am interested in what Kojima has in mind for MSG5. Hopefully, he'll further modernize some of the game mechanics because MSG4 was definitely not up to par in certain gameplay areas (gunplay especially).
</3. MGS4 was the perfect way to end the series; it resolved everything. There's no need to continue the story, it's over. Another prequel would just be lame, like Peace Walker.
But since it is a Metal Gear game, I'm going to have to buy it, and I'm going to buy the limited edition. Don't goof it up Kojima!

LET IT DIE, FOR FUCKS SAKE!
I'm hoping it's just a spiritual sequel in the same universe, and not a direct sequel. The Metal Gear lore is so far up its own ass that you need at least four compendiums to understand what the fuck is going on.
I think you could make an absolutely amazing Metal Gear Solid 5- and I think Kojima could possibly use a break- which he might get for the first Fox Engine project- potentially something different from Metal Gear Solid 5.
Does Kojima have a wife? kids? I tried to find out- but Wikipedia failed me.

This is poor news writing, nothing about that cover says Metal Gear Solid 5 is happening.
I guess "The latest Rising and MGS5 details" doesn't suggest MGS5?

@Gabriel: Read the end of the third paragraph. You know, the one that says "discusses his plan for Metal Gear Solid 5 and Project Ogre."
Magazines do this a lot, they ask questions about an upcoming game and Kojima might confirm it, or he might say he has some ideas about what he'd like to do, or he could just straight up say it's not happening. I don't think this confirms MGS5 at all yet, until people read the details in the magazine.

Poor Kojima. Trapped in an endless cycle of Metal Gear games.
Poor, poor millionaire Kojima, making mad cash while he writes whatever he damn well pleases.
I can think of people worse off. If he wanted to up and quit, he would have done so, along with the other devs of the Japanese Exodus last year (or was it early this year?).
I trust Kojima to just do whatever. As long as he's directly involved I have faith the project will turn out even if I have some reservations about a series having another main entry after it was supposed to be ended.

Oh God yes, a franchise that has a bunch of games, yet doesn't suck!
Things is.. It kinda sucks :/
(Used to LOVE MGS, dont get me wrong.)
Umm, not really. I knew someone would say something stupid like that.
It's going to be Peace Walker 2. With Snake being dead, and Raiden being in Rising, the only one we have left is Big Boss.
And quite frankly, I'm fucking stoked. Peace Walker is the shit on the PSP and an even bigger badass on the PS3. I can't wait to play that sumbitch in a native, non-upscaled HD format.
yes....mmmyes.......mmmmYEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!! MOAR CUTSCENES MOOOOOOARRRR ALL OF THE CUTSCENES ALL OF THEMMM DAMMIIIT!!!!
No seriously, I actually liked the cut scenes in MGS4, including the hour long one at the end. It tied things up nicely. The part where you play the game was really good too. Especially the last part.
Would love more from the MGS universe.
Start fresh this time Hideo, give us the odd cameo sure, but give us a new badass and let our old one live out his days in peace.
Rising will fill the void till 5, but I fear it won't be the same.

or..... it could be The Boss. I mean, that would be awesome! First a strong female character is totally what this industry need right now, and then it's the effin' Boss. And that means CQC at its best, infinite ammo on the Patriot, and all that stuff!
The problem is that she would ramble alot, but what the hell... ;)
