Why is this game $80?

Metroid Prime: Hunters is selling for 80 bucks on Amazon.  Did Nintendo discontinue production? Seems like an odd thing to do with one of their major franchises.

Could be an error on Amazons part, seeing as how the used copies go for far cheaper.

Odds are Nintendo stopped production of the game a long while ago.  That's the way it is with all games on all platforms.  However, that Amazon seller is just selling for too much, you can still get it cheaper, obviously.

Amazon does that sometimes.

Yes, the game is out of production or Amazon no longer carries it. What you are seeing is the game being sold by someone else. Its amazing how expensive DS games can get.

lol Ico is 120 bucks, Amazon must not have it anymore that's why it's so high. I still have my copy of hunters though..soo....>_>

A: The seller is deliberately inflating the price to be a jerk.
B: MPH is out of print (which I think it is), and a new copy is rare.
C: Actually a terrorist plot to undermine our struggling economy.

Hey man, that shirt is totally worth the price. It's like wearing a goddamn cloud.

Everyone look over on the right.     Ships from and sold by Hitgaming Video Games.  For some reason, Hitgaming Video Games is a featured seller on Amazon.   With the prices I've seen them asking for games, I really don't know how they stay in business.  No one in their right mind would buy them at those prices.
Remember, not everything available on Amazon is from Amazon.

It's now rare. Also... apparently a lot of other early DS games are now that expensive because they're so rare. I just bought a DSi about a month ago, and wanted to buy some of the older DS games I had missed out on. Then I saw how expensive they were and realized it wasn't going to happen.

Tetris DS is $130.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is $130.
Yoshi's Island DS is $75.
Metroid Pinball DS is $70.
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is $80.
Kirby: Canvas Curse is $60.
Electroplankton is $100.

Not cool, man.

And I looked at that page, and now it's $102.98. Just get it from the shop.

And underneath it is Zelda: Spirit Tracks for $25.00. WOW.
