I figure we should start this board off with a good ole' cliche topic... so what's your favorite area in the game? Mine is the Chozo Ruins... I just love the music, and it does a great job of nailing the run-down-ruins vibe.

I absolutely love the Phendrana Drifts, even if the only reason is the amazing music.  In terms of my favorite to just explore, I'd say Tallon Overworld.  It reminds me a lot of Crateria in Super Metroid.

I like Phendrana Drifts the most. Most of if is very calm.

Chozo Ruins is nice at first, but when the ghosts appear it get's very annoying.

Phendrana Drifts, and the Crashed Frigate were awesome.

Tallon Overworld I though was amazing. I'm just a sucker for a jungle type area.

I really liked the Phazon Mines. This area was well-designed and had excellent atmosphere. I thought the Crashed Frigate in Tallon Overworld was also a great place. Fantastic music and probably the most reflective point in the game.

Tallon Overworld for me...with all the rain and leaves and waterfalls it's just amazing for 2002 graphics.

I really liked Phendrana Drifts. The atmosphere of tranquility and the how the creatures can shatter it in an instant is unforgettable.

I just restarted this game and forgot how great it was.  Fantastic atmosphere.  Hard for me to nail down one particular favorite though.  Each region has a unique quality that stays with me.  I guess I'd have to agree with Tennou486 about the tranquility of the Phendrana Drifts.

I think that the very first area, the Pirate Frigate is among the best Metroid Prime areas ever. It has the right mix of tension, mystery and atmosphere.

Phendrana Drifts.  the music was really incredible, and the snow effects and graphics shined in that part the most.

    It's hard to pick favorites...

Probably Phendrana Drifts, followed closely by Tallo Overworld, and then Phazon Mines behind that.

My thoughts exactly.  The music can make or break a region and Phendrana Drifts totally makes it.  It's the perfect match.  I just love to look around the Tallon Overworld... it's one of the most spectacular sights in any game.

Tallon Overworld.  It's a tone setter of the game really.  Although Phendrana Drifts is better designed, I think the Overworld set a strong tone that made me love the game.

I really enjoyed all areas of the game, though the chozo ruins in particular really stood out to me.
