Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot made a final gesture and then dancers rushed on to the stage. Michael Jackson's "Beat It" began pumping in the auditorium. Feeling the rhythm and the need to earn their paycheck, the dancers began to vibrate and do their thing against a backdrop of a game that wasn't, to my recollection, announced. This is how Ubisoft's E3 2010 press conference came to a close.

But never fear--press materials released after the event have confirmed that Ubisoft is developing a dance game, which is apparently being called Michael Jackson: The Game. According to these sacred documents, Michael Jackson: The Game is set to "provide an interactive experience" that allow users to "relive his most iconic performances through their own signing and dancing." The magic of Kinect, the PS Move, the DS stylus, and the Wii remote will make this all possible.

Confirmed tracks for this title include "Billie Jean" and "Beat It." Confirmed dance moves include an "array of awe-inspiring dance moves." Ubisoft must be referring to the Moon Walk and crotch grab there.

"We’re delighted to have the opportunity to develop a game based on the songs and moves of one of the world’s most incredible performers of all time,” Guillemot said in a statement. “We expect the game to bring Michael Jackson fans, families and friends together with the energetic song and dance of The King of Pop.”

Micheal Jackson: The Game is slated for this holiday. It will see releases on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS. Yeah, the Nintendo DS.

Rated "P" for prepubescent only.

The sad thing is that this will probably sell regardless of the quality of the game.
Also, this seems to be a bit soon for this.

ditto.  Posthumous marketing makes me a little sad.  But finally I could get scored on how well I grab my crotch.  I've had years of practice.

As I said before: I hope this is some cruel joke, but since Battle Tag is real, then so is this.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before and I might be wrong, but I think that the "first" quest achievement only applies for videos. Just sayin'. I haven't completed that quest myself, but the quest itself would seem to indicate that it's only for videos. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I wonder if it will come with a pedophilia mini-game?

hahaha, too soon?  Answer: no.

But anyway, Billie Jean is one of the best songs ever in my opinion.  Michael Jackson used to make great music, back when he still appeared to be interested in adult women in his videos and we actually believed it.

Also, the Moonwalker game for Genesis was awesome, no matter how fucking psychotic it was.

It should be kinda fun on the DS.

Seems like in really poor taste to monopolize on his death like this, but really its just another dance game so no point in throwing a fit

What a awkward way to end a press conference.

#37 Posted by zonerover (584 posts) -

I can just imagine how good all these games will be, especially dancing with your DS while using "the magic of the DS stylus". Realism at its best!

I'm just not really sure what to think about this....

#39 Posted by EthanielRain (908 posts) -

Been expecting this since his death.

At first I thought it was a joke but dang Ubisoft, if you put a game out with that title it must be awesome.
